Title: Duelist King
Post by: Dark_Llama on November 30, 2003, 09:06:37 PM

This is me and onewing's little experimental RPG. It's Yu-Gi-Oh!, and all duelists are like the minor charaters off onthe side of the TV show's story.

We start in Duelist Kingdom, and we're just duelists that got invited. Maybe later we'll move to Battle City, but lets just start where we are. Remember, this is like the TV show, so make all your plays and cards sound really cool!

And, with your characters, you'll have to give the basic monsters/deck type you play. (Kaiba, for example, has Blue Eyes White Dragon, Yugi has Dark Magician), and REMEMBER THE MOST IMPORTANT RULE OF CARDS:
Follow the rules of the TV show, like there are only 3 Egyptian God cards, 4 Blue Eyes, etc. IN THE WORLD.

Unless by some totally unseen flip of the plot, WITH EXPLANATION, you cannot change this.

Check these pages for some depth into the basics of the game:

I made a character, waiting for others

OOC: I don't know if I'm going to join this one, it's kinda easy to godmod since you can pull any card you want to save your butt

Title: Re:Duelist King

Well, we dont necesarily duel each other, but yeah, it sorta works like that.....

Actually, isn't it more like the show that way? You always get a card that can help you win. And, we keep people from just getting any card by requiring their deck type.

Draco stepped off the boat that had brought all the duelists to the island. Maximillion Pegasus was hosting a giant tournament on his own private island, and Draco was one of few selected as honorary guests.

On the boat, he had scanned the competition, looking over nearly all the duelists he could find. Those that he saw were no match for his Dragons, and if all the duelists were like this, he would take home the whopping $3 million prize easily.

The only thing that bothered him was a rumor going around that Seto Kaiba, invited to the tournament, wasn't coming, because the previously World Champion had lost his first game to a newbie.

As Draco walked off onto the island, he saw a group of kids wearing most every color imagineable, only of which a few were real duelists, walk past him.

He overheard the girl say, "Wow, Yugi! his place is amazing!"

Sabin walked down the plank, following Draco. "Draco! Wait up man, I got caught up in the crowd. I heard that they have virtual duel platforms all over the island!!! I can't wait."

Sabin adjusted his duelist glove with the two star chips and shook his hair around. This is it... best of the world and it'll be mine. "So have you picked out your opponents yet?"

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: Dark_Llama on December 1, 2003, 09:00:55 PM

He looked back.

"Dude, didn't you scope them out on the way over? Most of these guys look like newbies. I say we get out there and start kicking ass right away!"

His glove was shiny, and he counted the holes for star chips.

"Looks like we need 10, and we all have 2... meaning we just have to win 8 more. This should be fun."

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: BigWill on December 1, 2003, 10:33:28 PM

Sabin grinned at his friend's confidence, "Sure, seems a duel is starting over that way." Sabin pointed towards the beach on a different part of the island. "Wanna check it out? I could get my first duel there!"

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: Dark_Llama on December 2, 2003, 05:37:41 PM

Nodding, he said:

"No need to rush. Let's have some fun first."

They walked towards a huge VR dueling platform. Already monsters were appearing and battling.

"We have a week and a half, I can win some games then."

"Ooooooh, Summoned Skull (2500/1200) made mincemeat of that Flame Cerebreth (2100/1800)."

He laughed, "No wonder who'll win now, especially with that Stop Defense."

As Summoned Skull finished the match, an eager duelist stepped down. "You wanna battle?"

OOC: Maybe Angel will, or any others

IC: The guy stepped down, "You wanna duel me punk? I'll f*%# you up."

Sabin blinked, "Whatever, let's do this."

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: Dark_Llama on December 3, 2003, 09:14:41 PM

Draco looked at the challenging duelist, and thought to himself how pathetic he had to be to resort to foul language to intimidate his opponents.

My Dragons are intimidation enough

They rose onto the duelist platforms and the arena lit up, ready for another duel.

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: BigWill on December 3, 2003, 10:42:55 PM

Sabin put his deck on the field after raising himself to the dueling platform. "Let's Duel!" they shouted simaltaneously. "Two star chips!" the other guy yelled.

"Fine with me!" Sabin yelled back. Sabin drew 5 cards, and the other guy yelled, "I'll go first! I'll place one monster in defense mode and one card face-down."

Two holographs of cards appeared on the field. "My turn!" Called Sabin, drawing a card. Hmmm... This'll do... "I summon Succubus Knight in attack mode!"
A vampiric-looking woman appeared, "Attack his face-down monster with Six-Palm Strike!" The creature attacked, revealing a Mammoth Graveyard in defense mode. It shattered into pieces, "It's your turn now..." mocked Sabin.

OOC: Really, what can I post? You're in control now.

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: BigWill on December 4, 2003, 08:03:02 PM

OOC: Encouragement/Advice, typical YGO-friends corniness

IC: "Cocky bastard, as if you know anything." He drew a card, smiling. "I'll set one monster face-down, and one more card face-down and then end my turn."

Shit... Another two face-down cards to deal with...
"My turn, and I'll add the Legendary Sword to increase my Succusbus Knight's attack and defense strength by 300 points! (1950/1600). A large shiny sword appeared in the hands of the six-armed woman. "Now my knight, test your new blade on his monster!"

"Fool! Your attack activates my monster! Cyber Jar activiate!"

Cyber Jar! Now he'll build his monsters up with the 5 new cards "My Succusbus Knight is destroyed, but now I'll draw 5 new ones and summon any I draw."

Sabin drew his five cards, Hmmm... Exiled Force, A Forces, Mask of Weakness, Celtic Guardian, and Black Luster Ritual "I summon Exiled Force (1000/1000 **** Earth Warrior) and Celtic Guardian (1400/1200 **** Earth Warrior), both in attack mode!"

"Hahahaha, then I'll summon Girochin Kuwagata (1700/1000 **** Wind Insect) and Twin-Headed Fire Dragon (2200/1700 ****** Fire Pyro)! When it's my turn, your two monsters will be toast!"

Shoot, if I don't do something he'll destroy both my monsters and make my life points drop severely! Unless... "I'll place one card face-down on the field and end my turn."

"My turn! Twin-Headed Fire Dragon and Girochin Kuwagata, attack his monsters!"

"Now you fell into my trap, Exiled Force, activate Self-Destruct!" Exiled Force charged straight towards his dragon and both blew up. "My Exiled Force's special ability sacrifices itself to destroy one of my opponent's monster." Girochin Kuwagata slashed through Celtic Guardian, reducing Sabin's life points by 300.

Sabin: 1700 LP
Opponent: 2000 LP

"I'll now summon Karate Man!" A large dark man appeared on the field in a karate Gi, "And two cards face-down, it's your move"

"Girochin Kuwagata! Attack!" The other opponent yelled with a crazed glint in his eye, "You idiot, don't you think through anything?! Karate Man, use Powerstrike!"

Karate Man rushed Girochin Kuwagata half-way through the attack, grabbing its arm and slamming it to the ground. "Karate Man may look weak, but his incredible amount of Chi allows him to double his Attack force, though it destroys him, you still lose 300 LP."

Sabin: 1700 LP
Opponent: 1700 LP

Draco could just watch as his bud duked out play after play to force his opponent to crumble under the pressure. He did, and the end was near.

One thing bothered Draco- in one of the first moves the opponent had, he set a magic or trap card, and since never activated it.

No chance to activate it? Like, the wrong effect timing? Or maybe... he's waiting...

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: BigWill on December 5, 2003, 12:21:59 AM

His opponent laughed to himself, "I summon Dark Blade (1800/1500 **** Dark Warrior) and play the spell card, Mystic Plasma Zone, raising all Dark creatures attack by 500 points!" (2300)

"My turn," called Sabin, "And I'll summon Goblin Attack Force (2300/0 **** Earth Warrior) to equal it, your move."

"I'll play one card face-down and end my turn."

Damn... 3 face-down cards... "I activate my face-down card, Mask of Weakness! It lowers your monster's attack by 700!"

"Activate Reverse Trap! It reverses all negative effects on my monsters and reverts it to yours!"

Goblin Attack Force: 1600/0
Dark Blade: 3000/1000

"I'll switch GAF to defense, and place one card face-down."

"Reveal face-down card, Stop Defense!"

Sabin stood shocked, "No! My Goblin is in attack now!"

His opponent's eyes gleamed again, "That's right, Dark Blade, turn Goblin Attack Force into sushi!"

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: Dark_Llama on December 5, 2003, 10:23:03 AM

As the doom of the other player neared, the face down card was no longer any real threat.

A new duelist walked up to Draco, from out of the forest.

"Hey, you!" he said, in his raspy voice. "Let's duel!"

Draco smiled and pulled his deck out of his pocket.

"OK, got a dueling arena?"

"Yeah, in here" and motioned to another clearing not far away.

Draco yelled to Sabin, "I've got my first victim too, I won't be long."

The two walked over and raised themselves into the platforms. Both shuffled their decks and began. drawing 5 cards, and 1 at the beginning of the turn.

"By the way," the other duelist said. "My name is Holt."

Hmm, not bad for a first hand...

Draco: I'll set 1 card face down and summon Troop Dragon in defense mode. Go.

Holt: Very well. I draw, and summon Muka Muka (Earth/**/Rock/Effect 600/300) in attack mode!

A insect-looking thing appeared, and its ATK immediately increased.

Holt: MY monster gets 300 ATK points for every card in my hand, and I have 5, meaning 1500 more ATK!

The monster's ATK shot to 2100.

Holt: Muka Muka, destroy Troop Dragon!

It shot out a purple spray and Troop Dragon disappeared, only to be replaced with another.

LIFEPOINTS: 2000 - 2000

Holt: What?!

Draco: If Troop Dragon is destroyed I can summon another! Are you finished?

Holt: Very well...

Draco drew a card and smiled.

Draco: I summon Luster Dragon! (Wind/Dragon/******/2400/1400)
Destroy his Muka Muka!

Luster Dragon fired a green stream of flame and roasted the bug.

LIFEPOINTS: 2000 - 1700

Draco: Your move.

His opponent's eyes gleamed again, "That's right, Dark Blade, turn Goblin Attack Force into sushi!"

Dark Blade slashed through GAF, "Your almost through..."

Dark Blade: 3000/1000
Sabin: 400 LP
Opponent: 1700 LP

"My turn, I draw..." Alright! Sword Hunter! But first he'll need a power boost.

"I set one monster face-down in defense mode and end my turn!"

Freak, you used Cyber Jar on me earlier. Now take a taste of your own medicine.

"Dark Blade! Destroy that monster!"

Appearing on the field, Cyber Jar detonates destroying itself and Dark Blade. "You know what to do," Sabin said smiling. Hmmm... Monster Reborn, Hayabusa Knight, Total Defense Shogun, Queen's Double, and Polymerization. "From Cyber Jar's effect I summon Hayabusa Knight (1000/1000 *** Earth Warrior, Total Defense Shogun (1550/2500 ****** Earth Warrior), and Queen's Double (350/300 * Earth Warrior) in Defense mode!"

"And I Rude Kaiser (1800/1500 ***** Earth Beast-Warrior, Sky Dragon (1900/1800 ***** Wind Dragon), and Steel Ogre Grotto #1 (1400/1800 ***** Earth Machine) in Attack Mode! Unfortunately due to Cyber Jar, I can't attack. But I can play Monster Reborn and get back my Dark Blade with 3000 Attack points!"

Sabin: 400 LP
Opponent: 1700 LP

Figures, watch and weep then...
"I summon Sword Hunter (2400/1700 ******* Earth Warrior) and play the magic cards The A. Forces!"

"A Forces increases all of my Warrior-types by 200 atk points for each Warrior or Spellcaster on the field."

Hayabusa Knight (2200/1000 *** Earth Warrior)
Total Def Shogun (2650/2500 ****** Earth Warrior)
Queen's Double (1150/300 * Earth Warrior)
Sword Hunter (3200/1700 ******* Earth Warrior)

"Sword Hunter! Attack Steel Ogre Grotto #1 with your steel blades!"

"I don't think so, activate Waboku! My LP is safe from attacks this round. But now I play Sword of Dark Destruction on Dark Blade making it 3400 Attack points! Attack Sword Hunter!"

Dark Blade zoomed in on Sword Hunter, "Activate Shift! It allows me to change your target! And I choose my Queen's Double in defense mode!"

Dark Blade changed course and destroyed Queen's Double, "And my LP stays intact. Now, I'll draw play a single card face-down and end my turn."

"Dark Blade, take out that Sword Hunter! Dark slash attack!"

"I activate Emperor's Holiday! It negates the effects of all equips, bringing your monster down to 2300. My Sword Hunter though stays at 3200 due to no equips. Sword Hunter, Cross-slash!"

Sword Hunter dashed in and Dark Blade disappeared in a double slash attack. "You loose 900 LP."

Sabin: 400 LP
Opponent: 800 LP

"I summon Beast of Talwar (2400/2150 ****** Dark Fiend) and play Forced Fusion, which allows me to fuse two monsters: my Sky Dragon and Beast of Talwar, adding half of one's attack and defense to the entire attack and defense of the other to determine their combined strength!. But due to the unstable fusion, it'll be destroyed in 3 turns. Now behold my Talwar Dragon!" (3350/3050 ********* Dark Dragon)

"Now I activate Dust Tornado destroying your stupid Emperor's Holiday and attack your Sword Hunter!"

The newly-fused Dark Dragon went straight for Sword Hunter, "Cut it to shreds!"

Sword Hunter slashed through the Dragon like a hot knife through butter, "My Sword Hunter's special ability equips your monster that it destroyed giving it 200 extra attack points! Now you lose 50 LP"

Sword Hunter (3400/1700 ******* Earth Warrior)

Sabin: 400 LP
Opponent: 750 LP

"Jerk, I'll draw..." He stood in shocked silence, "Your doom is now assured! Hahahahahah!"

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: Dark_Llama on December 6, 2003, 04:51:20 PM

Draco's opponent drew a card, glared at it, and slapped it down to the playing field.

Holt: "Labrynth Wall, Defense Mode. Your move"

Draco: "Hmm, Labrynth Wall, (***** Earth/Rock/0/3000), not much that can take down that defense, except maybe for... this"

Draco held up one of his mot lethal magic cards: Stop Defense.

Holt: "N.. no!!"

Draco: "Stop Defense turns your Wall into a slow-moving free target! Luster Dragon, destroy Labrynth Wall!"

Once again, the green flames enveloped the opponent's side of the field, and as the heat grew, the walls fell.

Draco: "I... win."

LIFEPOINTS: 2000 / -700

Draco: "Now, give me your star chips."

Holt took off his star chips and threw them to Draco.

Holt: "Not bad. Maybe another time." and walked towards the section reserved for observers.

Draco clipped his 3rd and 4th stars into his wristband and lowered himself from the platform. Sabin had still not won.

"First I play Heavy Storm, destroying all magic and trap cards."

Crap, Sword Hunter is down to its original 2400

"Now I summon Sengenjin! (2750/2500 ******** Earth Beast-Warrior) "Sengenjin! Attack his Sword Hunter!"

Sword Hunter slashed at Sengenjin, who's blades bounced off. Sengenin proceeded to punch Sword Hunter, destroying it outright. "You lose 350 LP."

Sabin: 50 LP
Opponent: 750 LP

"My turn, I draw..." Alright! Thunder Dragon! He's toast now!

"I discard Thunder Dragon (1600/1500 ***** Light Thunder) to the graveyard, allowing me to get two more from my Deck. Now I'll play my magic card, Polymerization! My two Thunder Dragons, fuse yourselfs into the Twin-Headed Thunder Dragon (2800/2100 ******** Light Thunder/Fusion)!"

"Now I'll add on Rush Recklessly increasing by 700 additional attack points"

Twin-Headed Thunder Dragon (3500/2100 ******** Light Thunder/Fusion)

"Twin-Headed Thunder Dragon, take out his Sengenin! Fatal Lightning Strike!"

Sabin's dragon attacked with a swift bolt of lightning, destroying Sengenin.

Sabin: 50 LP
Opponent: 0 LP

"You lose, now forfeit your star chips."

The other kid threw them in a fit of rage and curses, which Sabin clicked onto his glove and put his deck into his belt deck pouch. He turned to Draco, who was walking towards him, "I heard the agonizing screams from your opponent over there, how'd you do?"

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: Dark_Llama on December 8, 2003, 03:04:35 PM

He watched the lifepoints drop.

"He was an easy win. Turn 2. I hope the rest of the duelists here aren't that bad."

He held up his almost half-shiny wristband. Four stars were on it.

"I think we have preliminary duels for a few days, then the semi finals, then everyone with 10 starchips goes to... the castle."

Looking at a large, dark-lloking castle, Draco felt like something was strange about this tournament, but he usually felt that, and shrugged it off.

"Lets find some more people to play!"

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: BigWill on December 8, 2003, 05:44:32 PM

"Actually, he pulled some fairly good combos. We shouldn't have that many problems, I imagine there are some excellent duelists on the island. You want to try and head towards the ocean? I heard that fish-boy Mako dude is over there."

OOC: IMPORTANT

If you're playing on a certain field, the modifier for your strengths is multiply your monster's atk/def by 1.3

so 1000 atk Hayabusa Knight becomes 1300
and 2000 atk Curse of Dragon becomes 2600

Draco followed Sabin to the cliffs, but saw no one there. Only a small campfire burned on the rocks, and it was evident that few people had been here.

"I don't know if you want to wait around here, but I'm going to look for more people to play."

Draco stepped into the trees and out of sight.

"But there's gotta be someone around here..." Locke sighed and walked over to the sea. "I guess not..." Locke started to walk away.

"Halt!"

Locke turned around, amazed to find a duelist with black hair and dressed in more shades of blue than the oceans of the world. "You will be the next fish that this shark will devour!" he shouted at the top of his lungs.

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: BigWill on December 12, 2003, 12:56:11 PM

OOC: Post jake....

IC: "You are to duel me! How many chips do you wager?"

Locke was astounded by the man's fierceness, but replied less firmly than he wanted, "I bet 3 star chips!"

"Haha, not ready to lose it all? Too bad, because I'll send you back to rank noob!"

"Where's the arena? Or do you plan to float our cards on the waves?" Locke laughed confidently, hiding a doubt that this guy was far better than he wanted him to be.

But almost as soon as Locke spoke the words, a large arena appeared out of the ground half covered in water, the other half wasteland. "Yugi may have beat me earlier, but I can take a wimp like you! Let's duel!" he cried out, emitting confidence and strength Locke had not previously known. "And you... will go first."

Locke stepped onto the platform and slapped his deck onto the play area, drawing his hand. I better start out with a good defense, I don't know what kind of terrors he'll unleash on me I'll start by summoning Throwstone Unit in defense mode (900/2000 **** Earth Warrior) to start things off."

"Your lame defense won't help you, I summon the Sea Dragon (2200/1900 ****** Water Dragon). Sea Dragon, attack his Throwstone unit!"

"No! Throwstone Unit!" Locke's monster was destroyed, "Hm... Better than I imagined...."

Walking by an open field, Draco watched a kid with a Summoned Skull thoroughly stomp some smallblue-haired creature of a duelist. It was the same one from before, the one with cool hair and huge jewelry.

Then, a duelist with 3 stars on his wrist showed up through the clearing. Draco called out to him.

The kid came over, and being significantly smaller than he, looked almost straight up too speak.

"I bet I can destroy you in only three turns!"

"Okay, leprechan, let's play. What's the wager?"

"I'm Casey, you don't look too skilled, so I'll just say... 2 chips!"

"Fine. All the more to help me get along in this tournament."

They raised themselves into the platform and the Life Points ascended to 2000.

Draco: I'll go first. 1 card face down. 1 monster in defense mode. Your turn.

Casey: Hmm. Summon Armored Zombie! (*** 1500/0 Earth Zombie) destroy his monster!

It attacked, and there appeared a round, smiling machine.

Draco: Cyber Jar, ACTIVATE!

A small explosion sent both monsters to the graveyard, and then they drew 5 cards, summoning as many monsters as possible.

Draco: I get 1 monster, Troop Dragon.

Casey: I get two, A Royal Keeper in Defense mode, and summon Master Kyonshee! (**** Earth Zombie 1750/1000) Your turn.

Draco: Ah. A good card. Summon my... Trihorned Dragon! (******** Dark Dragon 2850/2350) Destroy Master Kyonshee!

The Dragon's huge arm raised up and swept down onto the battlefield, striking Kyonshee and sending him away in pieces.

LIFEPOINTS: Draco- 2000 Casey- 900

Draco: I end my turn. C'mon, not much left for me to take out now.

Sabin grimaced, Pretty strong monster for a hand pull, but this could help... "I summon Celtic Guardian in attack mode (1400/1200 **** Earth Warrior), and play one card face-down."

"That thing is about to become more food for my dragon, Sea Dragon attack!"

"Hasty move, and it'll cost ya. I activate Lightning Blade, which gives 800 attack points to my warrior. But not only that it decreases the attack of any water monster by 500 attack points! So Celtic Guardian, turn that dragon into seafood!"

Celtic Guardian: 2200/1200
Sea Dragon: 1700/1900

Celtic Guardian charged straight for Sea Dragon, lobing off its head spectacularly. "Too bad it's a hologram, I liked smoked fish."

Sabin: 2000 LP
Mako: 1500 LP

Casey, very much shaken after loosing his high-powered Master of Kyonshee, decided it was time to take action.

Casey: I summon Giant Axe Mummy! (***** 1700 / 2000 Earth Zombie) Then, equip it with Violet Crystal, increases its attack and defense power by 300!! (2000 / 2300)

Draco looked at his opponent's monster questioningly.

Draco: As much as you have powered it up, it is still weak.

Casey: It doesn't matter, I can still take a large portion of your Life Points! Giant Axe Mummy, destroy Troop Dragon!

The large ball of twine jumped foward and slashed the small dragon, it shattered into polygonal pieces and expanded, then stopped, and re-formed.

Casey: What/!?!

Draco: You may have attacked my Troop Dragon and destroyed it, but.. its effect moves a new one to the field in defense mode!

Casey: Whatever, but you still lose your Life Points!

LIFEPOINTS: Draco- 700 Casey- 900

Casey: Hahahahaha! I too can send you large damage to your Life Points.

Draco: You're good, I have to admit that. However..

He drew a card.

Draco: ... it ends now.

"Big words for a small duelist" Mako replied, "But if you think I'm out already you're dead wrong, I play my Dispel Magic Card destroying your Lightning Blade and bringing Celtic Guardian down to 1400 attack points!"

Sabin swore under his breath, without the Lightning Blade, his Celtic Guardian was very vulnerable. But Mako continued with his move regardless. "Now I summon Amphibian Beast who gets a power bonus for the water on the field!" (3120/2600 ****** Water Fish)

"Now my beast, attack his Celtic Guardian!"

Amphibian Beast slashed right through Celtic Guardian, "Your almost finished..."

Sabin: 280
Mako: 1500

"Don't think I'm out yet... I draw one card..."
What can I do... that Amphibian Beast will tear through anything I play... Unless...

"I play the Field Card Sogen, which will change the field from Wasteland to Meadow to accomodate Warrior and Beast-Warrior creatures. Now I summon Freed the Matchless General in attack mode, which gets a power boost due to Sogen (2990/2210 ***** Earth Warrior). But now I'll play Legendary Sword, raising it's attack and defense by another 300 points! (3290/2510)"

"Freed the Matchless General, attack Amphibian Beast!"

Freed ran straight for Amphibian Beast, parrying the claw attack and slashing it in half. "You lose 170 LP"

Sabin: 280
Mako: 1330

"Bah, I play Giant Red Seasnake in defense mode which gets a boost from the water. (2340/1300 **** Water Fish)."

"I'll draw one card... And play Stop Defense putting your Giant Red Seasnake into attack mode! Freed, attack his Giant Red Seasnake!"

Freed slashed through Mako's Seasnake with speed and accuracy. "Now you lose 950 LP"

Sabin: 280
Mako: 380

"My turn, I draw one card..." he paused a moment, "Now you're finished! I summon 7 Colored Fish (2340/1300 **** Water Fish). And I play Tribute to the Doomed, discarding one card from my hand to destroy your Freed the Matchless General!"

A tomb rose onto the playing field, opening and whipping out Mummy-like tape to seal Freed, "Sorry, but Freed has another effect, any Magic cards that specifically target him are negated."

The mummy-like tape returned the tomb which disappeared, "But now you're vulnerable," Sabin said confidently, "Freed, attack his LP and finish him off his Quick Sword Strike!"

Freed cut through 7 Colored Fish as he had the Giant Red Seasnake, "You lose..."

Sabin: 280
Mako: 0

"Now hand over your star chips," Sabin demanded. Now I have 7 star chips! I wonder how Draco is doing... Locke jumped off the platform and ran to the forest where he had last seen Draco head to.

Casey stood wide eyed, as Draco smirked.

I play this card, Final Attack Orders!

Suddenly, Casey's Royal Keeper (**** Earth Zombie 1600 / 1700) began staggering as it was forced into attack mode.

Casey: What?!

Draco: This card forces all monsters into Attack mode, and as long as it is active, they stay that way.

Casey: My Royal Keeper is completely vunerable!

Draco: Precisely.

He whipped his hand straight out and pointed.

Draco: Tri-Horned Dragon, attack Royal Keeper with your 3-Horn Attack!

The giant dragon ran foward and lowered its head. With a roar, it skewered the zombie mummy on its horns, and flung it away.

Draco: That takes you to zero.

LIFEPOINTS: Draco- 700 Casey- 0

Draco: I win. Give me your two chips.

Casey: Oh well. You managed to beat me and take my chips, but not all of them! I'm still in this tournament! Mwhahahah!

And he ran off.

Draco clipped his new chips in his holder. Pulling his cards from the platform, he shuffled his deck twice and put it back in the deck holder on his belt.

Let's take a little break.

Starchips: 6

Aleta Seraphine sat by a stream in Duelist Kingdom, hunched over a large sketchpad and sketching busily. She exhaled annoyedly and glared bloody murder at her wrist.

It's no use, she thought. I just can't get used to having that thing on my wrist. She unbuckled the heavy bracelet that held the two star chips she'd been given and set it beside her on the grass.

"Much better," she said aloud, and went back to her drawing. Her hand moved much more deftly without the bracelet weighing it down, but she stopped again after a few moments.

"Crud," she groaned. "I just can't get the face right. Stupid Dark Magician Girl...." She set her sketchpad down next to her and flopped backwards onto the grass.

"I need a model," she murmured to herself, moving one hand up to shade the sun from her eyes.

Draco heard running water nearby an thought he might dip his feet in the water while he took a break from all this dueling. It had only been 2 hours since they got there, and he already had 6 chips.

As he got out of the trees and sat on a rock, he looked down on the rock near him and saw a sketchbook.

On it was a beatiful sketch of a Duel Monster, whose name escaped Draco at the moment. He jumped down to look at it and just missed landing on a girl laying out of sight by the boulder.

"Ah! I'm sorry! I guess I was distracted by that sketch over there. Did you do it? It's really good!"

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: devils_angel on December 14, 2003, 06:37:43 PM

Aleta blinked up at the tall boy who was suddenly leaning over her.

"Umm....yeah, yeah, I did," she answered after a moment, caught off-guard. "I'm glad you like it, but..." She frowned momentarily. "I didn't get a good enough look at her face during the duel, so I'm afraid she'll stay unfinished until I run across another."

She pulled herself into a sitting position and looked over the newcomer. He stood tall above her, and she didn't think it was just because she was sitting down. Gravity-defying blonde hair topped his head, and he was clad in a black sweatshirt and jeans. Overall, he didn't look like a jackass, a rapist, or a serial killer, so she figured it would be all right to get to know him.

"I'm Aleta," she introduced herself, patting the grass next to her in an invitation to sit down. "What's your name?"

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: Dark_Llama on December 14, 2003, 06:56:05 PM

Leaning against the rock that had introduced them, he said,

"Draco."

Since she didn't appear to have a dueling glove, Draco didn't have to fear a sudden challenge.

Then, looking at the sketch, he asked,

"Do you know which monster that is?"

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: devils_angel on December 14, 2003, 07:48:42 PM

"Sure I do. It's the Dark Magician Girl," Aleta replied. "She's a pretty cool monster. She gets more attack points for each Dark Magician on the field, though I'm not sure exactly how many that is. You ever seen her in a duel before?"

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: Dark_Llama on December 14, 2003, 08:10:29 PM

Since she said the name, obviously it had come to him.

"I saw a card of the Dark Magician Girl once, but that was before any of this holographic technology was introduced to the dueling world."

He smiled.

"Now, how did you get on the island? Are you a duelist?"

My break isn't over yet.

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: devils_angel on December 14, 2003, 08:12:49 PM

Aleta nodded.

"Yeah," she said, "I'm a duelist. I don't know exactly why I got invited to come here....I mean, I'm not terribly good, and I only play for fun. But it's cool." She grinned. "I've gotten a bunch of good sketches from the others that pass by here. What about you? You're a duelist too, right?"

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: Dark_Llama on December 14, 2003, 08:30:58 PM

Draco pulled out his deck.

"Yeah, I'm a duelist."

He made a fist and held it up.

"I've got 6 star chips already! Once I have 10 I can enter the semi-finals!"

As he flipped his deck out, a few cards spilled off the top and onto the sand between them. There on the ground lay three of his cards: Lord of D., Spear Dragon, and a Twin-Headed Behemoth. Since they were holographic, they reflected the sunlight onto the girls face, and, depending on how you looked at her, she had one of Draco's dragons on her.

Cool!

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: devils_angel on December 14, 2003, 09:28:19 PM

Aleta was oblivious to the new additions to her makeup. She leaned over and picked up her star chip bracelet. Fastening it back onto her wrist, she gave it one last glare and held it up for Draco to see.

"I've only got two," she said with a smile. "But hey, at least it gets me some cool drawings."

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: Dark_Llama on December 14, 2003, 09:43:06 PM

Picking up his cards, Draco asked:

"So you haven't dueled anyone yet? Maybe you should, it's fun to win."

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: devils_angel on December 15, 2003, 08:11:50 AM

Aleta smiled.

"Yeah, I suppose it is fun to win," she replied. "But I think it's just as fun to watch and try to predict the outcome. I've plotted out whole comics based solely on one duel. They're great inspiration."

"I'll crush."

OOC: *sigh* no one waits for the poor bed-ridden sick boy...

IC: Sabin turned to find his friend had stopped by a stream and was talking to a very intelligent-looking girl. Sabin shrugged, as he had already won more than half the amount of star chips needed he decided he could wait. He walked over, noticing a wonderfully-drawn Dark Magician Girl, "Heeeeeeey, nice drawing! Are you a duelist or just "cheerleading" for a friend?" he cheerfully asked the pink-haired girl, who was still buried in her drawing.

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: Dark_Llama on December 16, 2003, 05:57:00 PM

Still engulfed in a dramatic moment, Sabin failed to see his buddy appear from behind a tree. One he caught sight of him, he lowered his hand and eyed Sabin's 7 starchips.

Arg.. he only has 1 more than I do, but that STILL bugs me.

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: devils_angel on December 17, 2003, 06:55:17 PM

Aleta blinked, surprised by the appearance of yet another duelist.

"I suppose I'm the former, though I'm not much of one," she replied with a smile. "I don't cheerlead, but I prefer to watch." She glanced down at her sketchbook and added, "Well, I like to record duels sometimes, too."

Eyeing the bushes suspiciously, she asked, "Are bushes the official transport system of the duelists here or what? 'Cause if they are, I think I've been doing things all wrong, walking on the ground like I was."

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: Dark_Llama on December 17, 2003, 08:41:44 PM

OOC: lol.

IC:

Draco glanced back to the girl.

"It's probably because this is still a regular island, no modernization at all, aside from that huge castle up there. It's as if no one had ever been here before, and thus, we must use the bushes.."

The sun was lowering now. Draco checked his watch, it was almost 4.

OOC: great low-cut sarcasm

IC: Sabin blinked, "Uh.... Yeeah. We're like Robinson Crusoe with funny-looking monster cards!" Sabin stood from his kneeling position and strode around holding his deck pretending to be a total idiot.

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: Dark_Llama on December 18, 2003, 05:44:37 PM

OOC: Pretending? ;)

IC:

As the sun sank lower and lower, the temperature dropped, and Draco noted,

"Since they told us they wouldn't be able to support us once we got to the island, and the boat is long gone, I guess this camping stuff we were told to bring might help."

He took a pack of stuff out and unfurled a sleeping bag, some small cans of food, and a jet lighter.

Noticing the skeptical look of Aleta after the lighter dropped out, Draco added:

"I'm not a smoker, it's just a really cool way to start fires."

With that, he held it up, took off its cap and pushed the button. A short "click" followed a a cone-shaped blue flame erupted from the spout, condensing into a single neat flame.

Draco started a fire to keep them all warm. The sun disappeared.

Sabin was still acting like an idiot.

Draco poured out a few canned goods.

"Not too much besides the basics. I have some beans..."

He continued to rummage.

"Beans and pork..."

*shuffle shuffle*

"Pork and Beans...."

and he hit the bottom of the sack.

"Oh, and pork and beans with bacon!"

Looking at the large sweatdrops the other two had, he questioned, "What do you guys have?"

OOC: Well, I was felling really creative today... [sarcasm] [/sarcasm]

Weiße: mmmm...... Bacon.

Title: Re:Duelist King

Aleta sweatdropped. Rummaging around in the shoulder bag that sat next to her, she peered inside.

"Hmm....I've got some instant ramen, Ritz crackers...umm....ooh! Pocky, tortilla chips, and pretzels...a Nutrigrain bar....and hey! My last bag of strawberries!" She held the last item triumphantly.

"Lucky~" she grinned.

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: Dark_Llama on December 21, 2003, 11:51:57 AM

Draco began cooking beans in the can, and waited for the others to get set up for the night. Sitting there idly, he just shuffled his deck a few times, and browsed through its contents once before shuffling them again and returning them to their holder on his belt.

"Well, let's find some comfortable rocks for pillows.."

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: devils_angel on December 21, 2003, 03:27:09 PM

"Aww, who needs rocks?" Aleta asked. She reached into her bag and pulled out an well-worn blue-grey sweatshirt. It was obviously too big for her, as it fell down to her knees when she put it on. She laid down on her side and tucked one arm under her head.

"See? Pillow and blanket all in one," she remarked, tucking her legs inside the sweatshirt.

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: Dark_Llama on December 22, 2003, 12:11:05 AM

Draco followed the example, using his sweatshirt hood, bundled up, as a pillow, and lay down. The smell of his beans started to drift towards him, reminding him of the food, and he quickly sat up, took them off the fire, and let them cool.

Once cool, he chugged them thoughrougly, and lay down for the night.

"Well, see ya tomorrow. More dueling to come..."

Finishing her last bite of a pretzel, Aleta followed Draco's example and rolled onto her side.

"'Night all," she said, punctuating her sentence with a yawn. "See y'all in the morning..."

Not long afterwards, she was asleep.

Title: Re:Duelist King

Sabin lazily rolled out his sleeping bag, "Beef jerky, eggs, and cold water for me." Sabin made a sign like he was going to puke. He then rolled out a small generic sleeping bag and rolled up, "Draco, wait for me before you head off to only God-knows-where, k?"

During the night, Draco slept pretty well, except for one moment when he was awoken by a woman's scream in the middle of the night. After looking around the immediate area, Draco had gone back to sleep, dismissing it as his imagination. He checked his deck was all still there, and went back to sleep.

OOC: Moving on to morning.

IC:

The sun rose, and a new day in Duelist Kingdom began. It was cold at first, but as the sun rose higher the early fog burned off, and Draco awoke to sun filtering through the trees.

Getting up, he wrapped up his sleeping bag and re-packed his things. The others were still asleep.

OOC: This guy is soooo not like me, waking up first? No way.

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: devils_angel on December 23, 2003, 09:26:59 AM

Aleta woke up slowly and at first didn't remember where she was. She blinked, taking in the fact that she wasn't in a bedroom and she wasn't on a bed. Then she sneezed and whacked her head on a rock.

"Ow! Dammit!" she cursed, sitting up and rubbing her head. Looking around, she saw that Draco was already up. She raised one hand and half-waved at him. "Uh....I mean, good morning."

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: Dark_Llama on December 23, 2003, 03:00:14 PM

The morning started, and while Sabin was still asleep, Draco decided to walk around and win a duel for his seventh star chip.

He passed a few smoldering campfires and camps, but most people were still asleep, and thus he couldn't find many opponents.

There will be more after breakfast, I guess.

Ouch, shot down, Aleta thought as she watched Draco walk off into the foliage. Oh well. Maybe we'll meet again.

Forcing herself to leave her comfortable position on the ground, she got up and filled the small thermos she had in her bag with water. She reignited the remains of the previous night's campfire and set the water to boil.

While she waited, she set out a cup of instant ramen and settled herself down to sketch the forest in early morning.

Returning to the campground, Draco saw Aleta sketching something.

He said: "Hi there. Did you call out to me as I left? I thought I heard someone."

He lay back on his rolled up sleeping bag.

"Gah!" Aleta exclaimed, jumping and consequently throwing her pencil in midair. She turned around to face Draco.

"You scared me, hun," she told him with a smile. "But yeah, I did say good morning before you left. I guess you were lost in your thoughts like I just was, huh?" She patted the grass beside her, unwittingly mirroring the previous day's actions. "I'm waiting for my ramen to be ready. Wanna keep me company for a while?"

Title: Re:Duelist King

OOC: Will, Sabin is gonna be asleep for a while unless you get him up.

IC:

Draco sat and admired her sketch. It wasn't of Duel Monsters, but rather, a very good rendition of the trees as the sunlight filtered through them. Soon Draco's watch said 9 AM, so he asked,

"Aleta, wanna watch me duel? I only need four starchips before I get to the semifinals, and I want to get them quickly!"

Aleta nodded. "That sounds fine with me. We should leave a note for your friend, though....umm....what was his name? I don't think he ever told me," she pondered. "Anyway, we should let him know where we've gone, don't you think?"

Title: Re:Duelist King

"Nah, just leave our things here, he'll know we didn't abandone him."

Draco stood, and grabbed his deck from his sleeping bag.

"Shall we?" he said, offering her a hand.

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: devils_angel on December 26, 2003, 09:52:48 AM

"Let's shall," Aleta replied, quoting a cartoon she'd seen once. She grabbed her sketchbook and shoulder bag. "Where are we off to first?"

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: Dark_Llama on December 26, 2003, 07:15:49 PM

OOC: For the sketching sake, I'll just provide little images of the cooler monster cards played from now on. Click the card names to see them.

Draco pulled her up, sketchbook and all, and walked into the bushes together. (ooc: hehehe)

They came upon a duel platform soon after, but no one was near it. Rather than sit and wait, Draco decided to move on, and before long, a teenage duelist appeared. He seemed well-kept, with shiny, straight-hanging black hair, a white button shirt black pants and white gloves.

"Good morning, fellow duelist. I'm am Alexander, and will be beating you today."

Draco raised an eyebrow, smiled and nodded towards an adjacent platform. The two rose up and the Lifepoints rose to 2000.

Draco said, "If you're so sure you'll win, you'll let me go first, as a courtesy, of course."

Alexander laughed. "Sure. Go right ahead. You need all the handicap you can get. Heck, to make this even more beneficial to me, we can both bet 3 Starchips."

Draco drew 6 cards, and smiled. Quickly putting on his game face, he realized he needn't let his opponent know he had a wining hand already.

"I think I'll summon Three-Headed Geedo (http://us.st4.yimg.com/store1.yimg.com/I/pokeorder_1773_289550044]Grey Wing, in attack mode. (*** Wind/Dragon 1300 / 700) and then one card face down. Your Move."

Alexander drew, and frowned.

"Hmph. Maybe your defeat won't be as quick as I previously expected. I'll put this monster in defense mode, ending my turn."

Draco thought to himself, Why end it now, I should have some fun first.

"I'll summon Luster Dragon (**** Wind/Dragon 1900 / 1600), who will destroy your facedown card!!""

The blinking lights that represented the facedown card disappeared, and a strange, three headed monster appeared, then shattered.

"[url=http://us.st4.yimg.com/store1.yimg.com/I/pokeorder_1773_36870639)! (**** Dark/Fiend 1200 / 1400)No!"

Draco stared right at his opponent, and said, "If that was a good monster in your deck, then your predictions of victory are seriously wrong."

Alexander looked right back at him. "I.. didn't say that was a good monster...

"No, but you obviously weren't expecting that attack. It's your move."

Aleta plopped herself down on some nearby grass and settled down to watch. Pulling her sketchbook into her lap, she began to idly doodle the scene in front of her.

Yay, dragons, she thought cheerily. Haven't drawn them in a while.

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: Dark_Llama on December 27, 2003, 10:58:36 PM

Alexander nervously drew another card, and thought For a first turn, he slaps down two powerful monsters.. I should try harder..

Draco tapped his foot, waiting for a move to occur.

Alexander put down a card.

"I Summon Dragon's Rage (http://cardhaus.com/images/lod-018.jpg]Marauding Captain! (*** Earth/Warrior 1200 / 400) and now use his special ability!"

Draco raised an eyebrow.

"What ability is that?"

Alexander smiled, "Why, it lets me summon another monster!"

Draco's eyes widened in anticipation.

"Summon Armail! (*** Earth/Warrior 700 / 1300)"

Draco's eyes returned to their game-face mode.

"I hope you enjoyed yourself, because that will be your last big play." He drew his card. "Now I too can activate a monster ability, the one of my Gray Wing!"

He took a card from his hand and put it in the Graveyard.

"Gray Wing lets me discard a card from my hand in order to let it attack twice in one turn! Gray Wing, destroy his monsters!"

The small, winged dragon took flight and flew straight for Marauding Captain, knocking it down, and damaging Alexander's Lifepoints.

LIFEPOINTS: Alexander: 1900 Draco: 2000

Then, Gray Wing flew towards the smaller, reptillian-looking creature, Armail. It too fell before the destruction of the special ability.

LIFEPOINTS: Alexander: 1300 Draco: 2000

"I hope you can counter that, because this duel is over if otherwise."

Alexander drew his card, and smiled a large smile, frighteningly large.

"Feel this! Warrior of Tradition! (****** Earth/Warrior 1900 / 1700) To whom I will equip this, Axe of Despair! (ATK+1000) (ATK=2900) Destroy Gray Wing!"

The small, kimono-clad girl pulled out a rather large blade and throuhoughly chopped Gray Wing away.

LIFEPOINTS: Alexander: 1300 Draco: 400

Draco: "Hehe, too bad it only has 2900 ATK points. If it had more you might survive this next turn."

Alexander, still amazed he could slash a small monster and inflict major damage to the Opponent's Lifepoints, couldn't get what he was hearing. Is he serious? I just severred his monster, and he's saying I'm bad?

Draco drew his card, and shook his head.

"Time to end this. I activate Dragonic Attack! This card is equipped to your Warrior-type monster and raises its ATK by 500, but makes it a Dragon-type monster (ATK=3400)"

Alexander gawked. "You power up my monster? That's the plan?"

"It is now. Summon my Dragon Manipulator! His ability lets me take control of one of your Dragon monsters, so I'll choose your Warrior of Tradition."

The card walked to his side of the field.

"Now, I activate, Wingbeat of Giant Dragon! Returning a Dragon monster on the field to my hand, and destroying all Magic and Trap cards on the field! Meaning, Warrior of Tradition is in my hand, and Axe of Despair is in the Graveyard!"

"I'll put one more card facedown, and end my turn."

Alexander was shocked. "My monster! My combo! Ruined!"

Alexander drew a card and set a monster face down, looking defeated.

Draco drew a card and laughed.

"This is it. Good game. Luster Dragon! (****** Wind/Dragon 2400 / 1400) and activate my Trap card! [url=http://cardhaus.com/images/lod-048.jpg)!"

Struck by sudden inspiration, Aleta began to sketch the Warrior of Tradition. She lightly penciled in dragon ears and a tail on the young girl, laughing to herself. Returning her attention to the playing field, she noticed that Draco was in the middle of his turn and decided to provide moral support.

"Go, Draco!" she called cheerily. "Beat him! And remember to pose in artistically pleasing ways so that I can draw you!"

Draco smiled. Pose?

He continued, pointing rather dramatically at the new face-down monster Alexander had set.

"Dragon's Rage, activate! This trap card makes no monster safe from attacks! Luster Dragon, destroy!"

The green ball of flame built up and shot from the dragon's mouth. The flames laced the face-down card, and some small creature appeared, then exploded in a flurry of green.

"My.. .Sangan (http://cardhaus.com/images/Mrd-069.JPG)... (*** Dark/Fiend 1000 / 600)"

Draco laughed. "600 DEF, compared to my 2400 ATK.. Dragon's Rage makes us ignore the fact your card is in Defense mode, and still does damage to your Lifepoints!"

LIFEPOINTS: Alexander: 0 Draco: 400

Aleta applauded for a moment before returning to her sketch of Draco in his dramatic pose.

All he needs is a few sparkles and a sword, and he'd be the perfect hero of a shoujo comic, she thought.

Draco stepped off the platform and gained his new Starchips. Ahaha... I have nine chips, one to go.

Walking over to the still-sketching girl, Draco said,

"Let's go see if Sabin is awake yet."

OOC: Will, at this rate, we'll be done with Duelist Kingdom soon, remember that we can only go so far in the tournaments before we HAVE to lose.

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: BigWill on December 28, 2003, 01:53:23 PM

Sabin yawned, rubbing his eyes and getting out his sleeping bag. He saw Draco and Aleta returning, Aleta with her notebook under her arm. "I'm just about to win this tournament, and what have you guys been up to?"

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: Dark_Llama on December 28, 2003, 02:28:51 PM

Draco held up his arm.

"Well, just been busy looking for a morning duel. I found a kid who was a little too over-confident, and bet me 3 star chips. I took him out in only a few turns."

He shuffled his deck a few times and returned it to its holder.

"Well, now that you're awake, you might want to get to 'winning' this tournament."

Title: Re:Duelist King

Sabin had his stuff packed up shortly, "Yeah... I guess so. I heard some yells near a cave over that way." And with that he pointed off through some bushes. "I was thinking about checking it out, you interested?"

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: devils_angel on December 28, 2003, 05:14:21 PM

"Mind if I tag along?" Aleta spoke up. "I like traveling in a group better than I like traveling alone. Besides, I suppose eventually I'm going to have to challenge someone, and it might as well be one of you two."

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: BigWill on December 28, 2003, 06:29:42 PM

"How about you face the next guy/girl who comes our way?" Sabin smiled at Aleta, almost forgetting she was a duelist herself. "Let's head over to that spot I mentioned earlier," Sabin said, already moving through the foilage.

Title: Re:Duelist King

It wasn't long until they found the cave, a large hole yielded a dark interior.

"Aleta, I think youuuuuu should duel next. Unless Sabin can find someone worth fighting in the cave."

Title: Re:Duelist King

"Heh...." Aleta sweatdropped. "Well, maybe. I'm not sure yet if I'm gonna duel, though I suppose I should. I hafta earn my keep, after all."

Title: Re:Duelist King

"Right," Aleta agreed. "But I think I'll just wait until I find a duel that feels right. You guys can take the first pick of anyone that comes our way. My duty as an artist," she added, indicating her sketchbook full of duel records, "comes before my duty as a duelist any day."

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: Dark_Llama on December 29, 2003, 09:27:08 PM

They entered the cave and came across two coffins against the wall.

"Um.. coffins? They look a little fake."

Draco touched one, and a skeleton jumped out at him, trying to wrap itself on him. Draco didn't flinch, but rather caught the skeleton by the neck, and flung it down.

"Diversionary tactic, to keep the weak, scared duelists away. I wonder who put these here."

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: devils_angel on December 29, 2003, 09:36:41 PM

Aleta drew a little closer to the center of the cave, making sure she was far away from the coffins. She had nothing against skeletons-- she was sure that they all probably had very nice personalities and interesting hobbies-- but she did have something against things leaping out at her from the shadows.

"Light, light...if only we had a light," she murmured to herself. "Oh!!" Struck by sudden inspiration, she began rooting through her shoulderbag. After a few moments and muttered curses, she pulled an object out triumphantly.

"Ah-HA! Light!" she proclaimed, holding out her cell phone dramatically. The electronic blue glow provided only a few inches of light around her hand, and she sweatdropped.

"Well....it's better than nothing," she amended.

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: Dark_Llama on December 29, 2003, 09:52:33 PM

The thought was nice, but inneffective. They continued on, and came across a dueling field in a cave.

"That's odd. Why is there a dueling field in here? And why does it have all those things on it?"

The field had some extra additions to it, fake tombstones, the duel towers were painted to appear as coffins. It was like a living dead-themed cave.

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: devils_angel on December 29, 2003, 10:06:01 PM

"Ew," Aleta remarked. "Can anyone say 'necrophiliac'?"

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: Dark_Llama on December 29, 2003, 10:13:55 PM

Draco was reacting a little more cautiously now. The glue that had been used to apply the additions to the platform was still fresh.

Whoever did this was still near.

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: BigWill on December 29, 2003, 10:48:15 PM

As Sabin had been standing right next to one of the coffins, a skeleton jumped out and grabbed him.

"Waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaah! Something's got me!"

Sabin ran around, the skeleton hitting the coffin and breaking off. Sabin sighed, then looked back to Aleta and Draco, "Just got surprised... nothing more..."

Sabin thought about the word Aleta had used, "Necrophiliac? Don't they do dead people?"

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: Dark_Llama on December 30, 2003, 10:12:31 AM

"Uh-huh, they do, oddly enough. But I don't think 'necrophiliac' is the right word for this... stuff."

He pulled on the fake tombstones on the side of the platform, and one came off. Sweatdropping slightly, the moment of embarassment was cut short by evil laughter from elsewhere in the cave.

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: BigWill on December 30, 2003, 10:41:10 AM

Sabin looked down the cave, hearing the same laughter down the cave. "Maybe it's another diversionary tactic" Sabin mocked, laughing as he started down the cave again.

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: Dark_Llama on December 30, 2003, 01:08:45 PM

"Sabin, where are you going? It's too dark in here, too easy to get lost!"

Then, Draco noticed the laughter had stopped, and a shadow of a person loomed over the wall.

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: BigWill on December 30, 2003, 03:28:38 PM

Sabin stopped and stepped back, seeing the shadow but then realizing it was just some bony little kid. "What's the matter? You look like you've been starving down here since you were 8."

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: devils_angel on December 30, 2003, 04:31:53 PM

Aleta's eyes welled up with dramatic tears when she saw the skinny child standing before them.

"Waaa~ you poor thing!!!" she cried, grabbing him in a tight hug. "I bet you've been lost in this cave for years and years, haven't you??"

The kid just stood there, watching her as if she was the child and he the adult. Aleta took this as an affirmative answer.

"Don't worry, it's gonna be okay now," she assured him. "We've got food and light and a way out, so don't you worry!!"

OOC: I don't know how the kid talks, so I can't RP his respones. If someone could help me get an idea of his character, that'd be super cool of them! ^^

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: Dark_Llama on December 30, 2003, 05:25:16 PM

OOC: Think edgy, he talks normally, but makes his vowels sound like ghosts would make them, "oooooh!"

He gets nervous a lot too.

IC:

Draco looked at the bony figure and saw his deck pouch.

"He's no stranded kid. He's a duelist."

The little guy glared at him with the big, hollowed looking eyes, kinda freaky, even to Draco.

"You are trapped! Prepare to duel, in the graveyard!!!"

ooc: Actually, I'm not dueling this one, either of you can choose to try. Remember he has Zombie cards and cards that ressurect monsters too.

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: BigWill on December 31, 2003, 12:41:54 PM

Sabin laughed at Aleta's reaction, somewhat different from his own. But when the kid challenged one of them to a duel, Sabin laughed, "Please, I don't like to pick on toddlers. Aleta, you haven't dueled yet, why don't you try him out for size?"

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: Dark_Llama on December 31, 2003, 01:14:54 PM

OOC: I'll do the Bones side of the story, since angel doesn't know the cards Bones has or how he uses them, so for now, I'm Bones.

IC:

"Feel the horror! One of you gets to duel me, which one shall I destroy first?!"

He walked away from the mother-instinctive Aleta and got into the farthest duelist tower, rising up.

"By the way, I'm Bones, and I'm no little, pathetic kid!" he said looking at Sabin with his large ghoul-like face.

Title: Re:Duelist King

Sabin shrugged, "Please, I bet ready-to-be-a-mother Aleta here could burn you like a Philly Steak."

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: Dark_Llama on January 1, 2004, 01:12:02 AM

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: devils_angel on January 1, 2004, 09:08:18 PM

Aleta sweatdropped.

"But....he's just a kid!!" she protested. "I can't duel a little, starving, anorexic, cave-dwelling boy!"

Maybe it was Aleta's imagination, but it seemed to her that Bones twitched a little.

"See, look! He's sick! He keeps twitching!" she cried.

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: Dark_Llama on January 1, 2004, 09:20:04 PM

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: devils_angel on January 1, 2004, 09:31:35 PM

This time it was Aleta that twitched.

"Uhh...excuse me?" she asked, eyeing Bones disbelievingly. "What's with the sudden plotting to trap us here forever? What's wrong with just dueling us?"

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: Dark_Llama on January 1, 2004, 09:51:17 PM

Bones stopped, and went into a thought process.

Draco yelled out, "Don't hurt yourself, 'little kid'!"

Then, with a glare back, Bones said, "It jsut goes with the evil ghoulish look, duh!"

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: devils_angel on January 1, 2004, 10:16:00 PM

"Well, that's stupid," Aleta replied, looking sensible. "I suppose I'll go along with the dueling, but I won't stay in here regardless of whether I win or lose."

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: BigWill on January 1, 2004, 10:37:17 PM

Sabin frowned, he was not sure of how either dueled. Plus depending on how many star chips she lost, she might be kicked off the island all together. As she stepped up and the duel started, Sabin yelled, "Com'n Aleta! Take him down!"

Title: Re:Duelist King

Aleta smiled and flashed a "victory" sign at her two companions.

"I'll do my best," she promised.

"Fine, well, I guess I'll start with you! I already have 5 star chips, and I'm sure you're not willing to bet more than 1, so that's al lthe victor gets."

He drew his cards, and the Lifepoints reached 2000.

"Ahaha! I'll play Crass Clown! (**** Dark/Fiend 1350 / 1400) Your move."

Or at least, he hoped so...

OOC: In Draco mode

IC:

Draco hoped Aleta could beat this bony little duelist, but he really had no info on her other than that she was a duelist, no info on her deck, monsters, magic and trap cards, Draco could only wait to see what monsters she had and maybe form a pattern to reveal her deck strategy.

Sabin looked at Aleta, who seemed firm in her determination. As she drew her hand and looked through the cards, all Sabin could do was think about what he had heard about Bones. Sneaky and no guts, he's a duelist who doesn't like to duel when he doesn't have to but plays a chillingly evil Zombie...

"Aleta! I just remembered, I remember hearing that he played a Zombie monster-type deck"

OOC: Since it is a graveyard field, all Zombies get the powerboost. Original attack multiplied by 1.3

"Oh-kay," Aleta said firmly, sounding as if she partly meant to reassure herself that she was ready. Drawing her cards, she made a quiet "hm" sound and paused. After a moment, she chose a card and looked back up.

"I summon UFO Turtle in attack mode. Four stars, Fire/Machine, 1400 attack and 1200 defense," she added, and placed her card on the playing field. "And, since Crass Clown has only 1350 attack points, I'm afraid we must bid his...*ahem*...charming face goodbye. Oh, and the same goes for 50 of your lifepoints."

She smiled cutely and waved to the clown as it disappeared into data.

"Bye-bye~" she sang.

At the summoning of her first monster, Sabin thought, Not bad... but an odd looker, that's for certain...

She destroyed his monster barely, but when Bones summoned a more powerful dragon-type monster Sabin was confused. A fiend and dragon? Where are the zombie cards?

But another monster began to materialize, I was hoping she knew UFO turtles special ability...

Genket looked down at his duelist gauntlet, admiring the 6 star chips on it. Hasn't been that hard yet...

But he heard a yell and a small explosion like the sound of Duel Monsters on a platform. He ran over, finding a cave. Are they in ther?

He shook off the bad feeling and ran inside, running past some skeletons and coffins. He saw a duel monsters platform that looked like a cemetery with two guys standing near the platform, cheering on a girl on the Duel Platform. He tapped a guy on the shoulder who seemed to have very very spikey hair and a pompous presence.

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: Dark_Llama on January 18, 2004, 09:37:37 PM

Draco felt a tapping on the shoulder, and turned around. Seeing a small duelist standing there, he could only ask,

"Are you with that guy?" pointing at Bones. "'Cause I'm really not in the mood."

Title: Re:Duelist King

Then he saw the duelist's 6 starchips.

Hmm, comptetition...

Genket saw Draco's look to his skinny arm. "I'm not that good, I just do what I can." He shrugged looking at Draco's own duelist gauntlet, seeing 9 chips of his own. "You seem to be pretty good. Am I right?"

Title: Re:Duelist King

At Draco's expression he continued, "I had 9, until I lost to this guy named Joey. Some tall guy with blonde hair, anyways he roasted my ass with a RED-EYES BLACK DRAGON!!! He's got nine now. Post by: devils_angel on January 28, 2004, 09:49:08 PM

The duel had progressed somewhat slowly behind Draco and Genket, but it had progressed nonetheless. Unfortunately for Aleta, part of this progress seemed to be the demise of her UFO Turtle.

"Poor thing," she said mournfully as he dissipated into data. "Oh well! UFO Turtle's special power lets me summon one monster from my deck onto my field. And my monster is...." She paused for dramatic effect before flipping the facedown card over.

"Fushi No Tori(****, Fire/Spirit, ATK 1200 DEF 0)!!" she exclaimed, grinning triumphantly. "My favorite! And, just for fun, I'll also play Molten Destruction, which boosts him to 2040 attack points. And you know what? I'll also put down Spiritual Energy Settlement Machine." She did so, looking quite pleased with herself. "And, I'll attack your Crawling Dragon, which destroys him and does 440 damage to your lifepoints. And Fushi No Tori transfers those lost lifepoints....to me!" She smiled cutely.

"Your move!"

His dragon disappeared, but Bones didn't seem too worried.

"Aha! Now I play, Call of the Haunted! It ressurects my monsters, as Zombies! Meet, Dragon Zombie! (*** Dark/Zombie 1600/0). Then I'll summon Pumpking, the King of Ghosts! (***** Dark/Spellcaster 1800/2000) who will power up my Zombies every turn!"

Dragon Zombie's attack rose. It wasn't really a threat to Aleta, but it was formidable.

"Your move."

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: devils_angel on January 29, 2004, 09:33:56 PM

"Ew," Aleta remarked. "Zombies, gross. Well...to each his own, I suppose." She shrugged. "Well, I'll stick to my fire monsters, thankyouverymuch. I summon my Flame Champion(*****, Fire/Pyro, ATK 1900 DEF 1300). She gets a power boost from Molten Destruction, too!" She grinned. "So, she'll attack your Dragon Zombie, and Fushi no Tori will attack Pumpking. So...I'm afraid that means you've run out of lifepoints..."

She waved goodbye mock-mournfully as Bones' monsters disappeared. "Bye bye~"

And so they looked for the cave exit. There had been enough dueling for a little while, though Draco was beginning to feel the need to earn his last starchip. He just hoped it didn't involve destroying anymore ghost-boys or newbies.

Sabin was amazed. When he thought Aleta had been in a bind she totally kicked that kid's bony little butt (OOC: hahahahaha.... no, guess not). Sabin raised his hand for a high-five as she came down and headed towards the exit. But a few of the guys that Bones had been with were standing there. All of them tall and muscular, the one who seemed to be the leader had sunglasses and a red bandanna. Sabin stepped forward remembering Draco's consistent bad-ass attitude, "Heeeeeeeeeey guys, we need to be heading out so would you guys mind if you stepped out of the way for a sec so we can get by and leave?"

A few minutes earlier:
A shadowy figure viewed the outcome of the duel with a degree of interest. "Hmmm, interesting, it appears that that girl was able to beat bones, who, while not exactly the best duelist, is still far above average, especially with bandanna boy’s help."

Hearing footsteps, Aisake turned to face the bandana-clad figure, fixing him with a condescending glare, “Well speak of the devil, look what the cat dragged in. hehe...it looks like even while under you expert tutelage *cough* babysitting, your lackeys are still not able to deal with even a beginning duelist.”

Keith fumed under his assistants critical remarks, “Well, if It weren’t for you I wouldn’t even have to deal with those losers in the first place, need I remind you whose idea it was for me to give these idiots the light of day? Besides wouldn’t that make you one of my lackeys too, lackey” he sneered.

Ignoring Bandit’s rebuttal altogether, Aisake had been intently studying the display terminal, continuing to watch the aftermath of the mystery duelists, “well, here's your chance to redeem yourself, go send some more lackeys to delay them while I’ll see if I can find anything about her companions.” Aisake looked up from the display and stared Keith in the eye, “I’d suggest guarding the entrance to force them to deal with you, preferably starting some kind of a fight. If you hadn’t noticed, one of the girls companions appears to have 9 starchips, and I’m sure that he’d be oh-so-hard for you to take down..” With this, Aisake turned and walked away, fool, I decide to help him after being defeated by a little kid, and this is how he treats me? Well I’m sure that someone with 9 starchips will be able to take him down a peg, besides I don’t believe that I’ve seen this particular duelist before, and to have gotten that many starchips he must at least have some skill. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see

OOC: I'll be assuming that this is before Bandit Keith attacks yugi’s gang. So it would be perfectly fine to eliminate almost all of his star chips, explaining why he later took his lackeys starchips, perhaps also to extract revenge on the duelist who manages to defeat him, who's also qualified to enter the castle *nudge nudge*

Let me explain Aisake's relationship with bandit. Yes, Aisake respects him to a degree, he is like a champion of duel monsters in the tournaments, in terms of being famous second only to the likes of Kiaba, who Aisake doesn’t respect because his strategy revolves around bringing BEWD into play and using it to just physically pummel the opposition into submission. Aisake was defeated in the last few rounds of the tournament where Pegasus had the kid defeat him. But their was close and Bandit acknowledges Aisake as a better tactician, though not a better. Seeing the pathetic sight of Keith being beaten by a little kid made Aisake take pity on him and helped him cope with the loss, but not enough to limit the expansion of his male bravado and previously unmarred record of countless victories to make him even more of a nut case than before. Aisake is helping Bandit manage his lackeys, perhaps in a right hand man role, primarily to gather intel about a number of up and coming duelists.

Sabin smiled, glad that Aleta also held the same hopes of getting out without a commotion. Sabin stepped forward as if to try and walk by. One of the punks in a stripped shirt swung his fist catching Sabin across the face and knocking him back quite a bit sliding into Aleta's feet. Sabin was dazed and slightly bruised, but otherwise unhurt. The only noise coming from him was a faint, "orrrrrrrrrrrroooooo..."

Aleta peered at Sabin, who seemed to be using her feet as pillows. She had a brief urge to giggle, but that quickly turned to anger.

"You know, now you guys are really starting to piss me off," she said, crossing her arms angrily. "Just because we don't want to be stuck in this cave any longer than necessary doesn't mean you have to deck him, you know. No pun intended," she added as an afterthought. "Now, why don't you move out of our way....please," she said forcefully.

Sabin blinked, standing up. Accidently bumping Aleta he excused himself and said he was sorry. "Ok guys... I don't think we'll be getting out that way. We might as well turn back and head out the other exit." Sabin put his hand on Aleta's arm and kinda tugged her a bit, and called out to Draco to com'n as he looked reeeeally ready for an all-out brawl.

"C'mon, Draco," Aleta repeated, taking him by the arm so that they formed a human chain. "Let's get out of here. Apparently all the duelists with attitude problems duel in caves...." She rolled her eyes.

As they exited the cave, Aleta took a deep breath of the fresh morning air and sighed happily.

"Nice day today," she said, admiring how the sun glinted off her three star chips. A random thought struck her, and she asked, "Ne....how many star chips do you two have, anyway?"

"Oh, I've got 9 of the 10 needed to qualify. Sabin, do you have 6 still? I haven't paid attention to you much today."

"Yikes, you have nine?" Aleta asked, her eyes going wide. "And I was so proud of getting three," she admitted sheepishly. "You guys make it look easy."

OOC: The cave exit is not for a very very long time...

IC: l maybe you can sell a drawing for a chip!" Sabin said trying to cheer her up, "It's not really that easy, you've got to have a balanced deck that supports itself. Your deck seems to do it so you could probably win another duel."

Draco nodded.

"Yeah, I think your deck performed quite well, especially against a tricky tactic that Bones played.. attacking you with normal monsters, then reviving them as Zombies. You handelled it well."

OOC: Oh. My bad. I was trying to speed things up. ^^;;

IC:
Aleta rubbed the back of her neck self-consciously.

"Eh...it wasn't really that much," she said. "It was partly drawing the right cards and partly just knowing how to use them. I was lucky," she finished with a smile. "But at least here they reward luck with shiny things!"

OOC: Are we going to the Paradox Bros. or to the exit?

Title: Re:Duelist King

OOC: the exit is being blocked by keith and his goonies so we're heading backwards into the cave hoping to find another exit

hmm...Keith was actually able to turn them back, though he had me worryed for a moment there.Aisake pulled out the map Bandit's cronies had made of the cave, there appears to be annother dueling arena even further into the complex. All it would require is for them to make a slight detour right about...here. Lesse what we can do about that....

OOC: do you guys want to go to fight para and dox? it would be nice, and an excuse for Aisake to hook up with the group, but would probably require some more tag-team dueling; and we saw how...tedious that is with angel's duel....if not, i can probably find some other way

OOC: Yeah

IC: The caves seemed to go on forever. But after what seemed to be an eternity the trio came upon a pair of double doors. Sabin spoke first in curiousity, "What the hell are a pair of double doors doing the the middle a freaking cave?!"

Draco played with the handle of the nearest door.

"Funky symbols. Wonder what they say?"

"Hell if I know..." Sabin pushed against the doors but they were heavy and only slightly budged. "Draco, give me a hand, will ya?"

Draco grabbed the other door and pushed hard. There was a great creaking as the doors began to open, and a crack of light appeared in the center.

With a final heave the doors swung open, Sabin sprawling out on the floor. "owwwwwwww..."

But two voices sounded, "Mwahahahahahahaha!"

An elaborate display of flips and jumps revealed two asian-looking figures, dressed in chinese robes, with the same tatoos on their foreheads as those on the doors.

Aleta stared at the two men for a moment.

"Um...do all the freaky duelists duel in caves?" she whispered to Draco and Sabin.

Title: Re:Duelist King
Post by: Dark_Llama on February 6, 2004, 08:05:52 PM

"You don't need to know him personally to tell he's a bit strange. You know that guy with the bandana in the cave? He was one of the greatest Duel Monsters' champions, but Pegasus beat him like he was nothing."
