Months later, Sabin had entered small-time
tournaments with Draco. But everything was, "back to normal." Until
one day, Sabin recieved an invitation...
For a Duel Monsters
tournament. The invitation gave the place and time, but didn't say
by who. Interesting....
Sabin called up Draco,
"Hey.... did you recieve an invitation to a Duel Monsters
tournament?"
EDIT: This is the Battle City portion of the
RPG. Now... you need to follow the common Yu-Gi-Oh
rules.
That is, sacrificing for higher level monsters. There
are only certain amounts of cards (4 BEWD, 3 Gods, etc) and there
are Rare Hunters, so those will be a part of the story as
well. |

"If I'm not mistaken, it's about a 20 minute
drive... southeast of here. Very big tech-industry there too. I just
got my license, and my parent's are out of town, so I've got a Civic
for the weekend, savvy?"
Sabin smiled, "But check out the
rules," he heard Draco say, "Duel Monsters Tournament Rules Ver 2.0,
those are the ones with high-level monster sacrifices and 4000 LP.
We'll need to adjust our decks according."
"Yeah... but that
tournament a month and a half ago had the same rules, we should be
fine," Sabin replied, remembering taking third place and a
particularly interesting card, a second in fact.

house. He had cleaned the dark blue Civic, and filled the tank. He
honked as he entered the driveway. |

IC: As soon as Draco got in his seat and closed the door,
Sabin hit the accelerator and sped out onto the roads.
In
about 10 minutes, they reached Domino. And just in time for the
meeting. A blimp flew overhead, "Duelists, may I present the man who
is giving off this tournament!"
Kaiba appeared on every
television screen in sight. Kaiba? Why not
Pegasus?! |

OOC: Oh yeah, definitely a new look. I'll get some
sketches done.
Draco's eyes went wide. He heard someone big
was hosting the tournament, but Kaiba was a total surprise.
Draco settled back to normal. He needn't fear Kaiba anymore.
All his new cards, including his secret weapon, were built into his
deck for the sole purpose of rivaling Kaiba's cards. Duelists that
pipoular don't go long without posting their match results online,
and Draco made sure to keep track of all of them. He had a counter
to almost every major card in Kaiba's deck....

test them periodically. That'd probably be a good idea, I heard
Yugi's deck uses a combination of smaller and larger monsters with
magical and trap support, almost like mine. It'd be worth a

"You know, I've always tried to beat Kaiba, and my deck uses
a similar strategy to his, while you've had it in for Yugi since he
blew past all of us, and your deck works like his now. Kinda weird,

Draco unlocked his house and set his new Duel Disk
on his table. He opened the box and followed the instructions for
use. It was relatively simple, especially now with more slots for
cards and a platform that you didn't have to throw, this disk system
was far improved over the last.
Draco flipped the deck lock
up and slipped his deck in. He squeezed his hand, as per the
instructions, and the disk flipped rapidly into dueling position,
and with a beep, signalled its readiness.

Sabin got home and got ready for work.
Over
the course of the week Draco and Sabin were only able to get
together once and do a practice duel. Sabin wasn't able to get Draco
to play his best monster, but both still refined their decks as per
the new rules.
Sabin showed up in the Civic the morning of
in Draco's driveway, jamming his palm into the horn.

Draco was sleeping. The horn woke him up in a very
non-happy manner.
Draco grabbed the nearest solid object,
which happened to be his alarm clock, and threw it out the windown
at Sabin's car, going through the sunroof and landing on the
passenger seat.
Draco was ready in 3 minutes. The tournament
had begun. |

It took Sabin ten minutes to get there, driving
very fast indeed. Sabin parked in a supermarket shopping center. One
duelist seemed to be dueling, or rather finishing off another.

They sifted through the crowds, and a kid cried out
loud, "Come one, come all! Face-up against Dante the Ravager! If you
win I'll give you my prized Buster Blader monster card!"
A Buster Blader?! Incredible!
"You're mine!"
Sabin cried out above the crowd.
"What's your rarest card?"
"Freed the Matchless General."
"Ha, you don't stand
a ghost of a chance! I accept your challenge! One card and my Buster
Blader, and one card and your Freed the Matchless General!"
They stood off fairly far, "Let's duel!" Sabin yelled,
activating his duel disk, the holgraphic "bats" zooming out and
taking place.
"I'll go first! Komouri Dragon, in attack
mode! (**** 1500/1200 Dark/Dragon)
"Not bad..." Sabin drew,
"I'll summon Strike Ninja (**** Dark/Warrior 1700/1200) and set one
card face-down, then my Ninja will attack Komouri Dragon!"
Jumping in the air and doing a flip Strike Ninja throws a
trio of kunai at Komouri Dragon lining them up and destroying it.
"Dragon soup...."

Draco was not soon without his own duel. A man
taller than he, hooded in an elaborate cape grabbed his shoulder.
"You will duel me. Win, and get many rare cards, not just
one, but lose, and I get all of yours!"
Draco looked at his
face. whoever it was, they were trying to look scary, but it was
obvious they were forcing it.
Draco whipped around, forcing
the stranger's hand off.

three or four feet long, and they add 700 ATK points to my Strike
Ninja!"
Spear Dragon dove it, only to meet the shruiken,
cutting through it completely. "Heh... more dragon soup..."
Dante played a single card face-down. "Go"

"Terrible... you suck. I summon
Hayabusa Knight (*** 1000/700 Earth/Warrior)! Hayabusa Knight and
Strike Ninja! Attack!"
"Activate Scapegoat!"
Four
serene looking goats appeared, "Scapegoat gives me four defense-mode
tokens which will block your attacks!"
Two scapegoats went
down in digital collapse. "Attack again, Hayabusa Knight!"
"What?!"
"Hayabusa Knight is weak, but has the
ability to attack twice."
"My turn then... I summon
Possessed Dark Soul in attack mode! (*** 700/1000 Fire/Fiend)
"My Dark Soul allows me to take control of all your level-3
monsters are under! Come to me, Hayabusa Knight!"
Crap...
"Now I switch Hayabusa Knight into
defense mode and end my turn."
"I'll draw..." YES!
"And summon my Vorse Raider in attack mode! (1900/1200 ****

added, "It's my turn," he said drawing a card, "I'll sacrifice my
Maruading Captain and my Vorse Raider to summon my Sword Hunter!"

points directly, Sword Hunter and Strike Ninja!"
"Strike
Ninja? Where'd he come from?!"
"I had used his special
ability thanks to your Card Destruction, and he vanished from the
field until I couldn't remove any more cards from my graveyard."
Strike Ninja's Fuuma Shruiken cut through Dante's LP and
Sword Hunter's swift X-strike finished Dante off.

SABIN - 2300
"No! Don't take my precious Buster Blader!"
Sabin looked at him, "Too bad... that's what you get for
being in this tournament."
Dante sunk and handed him the
Buster Blader. "This'll be perfect if I face Draco... OR
Kaiba." |

All the new technology was online, and Draco was
ready.
His opponent spoke. "I think I'll go first. With one
monster face down, and one trap card. Your move."
Draco
drew.
"Spear Dragon, I summon you! (**** 1900/0 Wind/Dragon)
Attack that monster!"
"Fool, it's my Bite Shoes! (**
Dark/Fiend 500/300) It changes the position of your monster after
it's destroyed, and since you have 0 DEF, anything I have can
destroy it!"
The attack still went through, and bite shoes
was no more.
Draco: 4000
Other Guy: 2400
"Now,
change positions, Spear Dragon!"
Draco's creature did
nothing.
"What?"
"You idiot." Draco said bluntly. "You
just helped me."
"What are you talking about?!"
"Spear
Dragon attacks and then immediately is switched to Defense Mode.
Your Bite Shoes changes its position. I go right back to Attack
Mode. Now, try to defeat it."
The hooded genius drew another
card, and glared at Draco.
"Very Well! Go, Zombrya the Dark!
(**** 2100/500 Dark/Warrior) Remove that pesky Dragon from my
sight!"
With a swift punch, Spear Dragon was no
more.
Draco: 3800
Guy: 2400
Draco smirked. "The
outcome of one battle means nothing compared to a war."
As
you will soon see... he thought, looking over his time-old card
combination once again forming in his hand.
And then he drew
his favorite Magic Card.
"I hope you like music, because this
flute is going to spell out your demise."

two Dragons from my hand with no tribute! I think I'll use Luster
Dragon #2 (**** Wind/Dragon 1900/1600) and.... Element Dragon! (****
Light/Dragon 1500/1200)"
"Element Dragon? I've never heard of that!"
"Well, you'll hope you
hadn't. See, there's a reason I summoned Luster Dragon. It's a Wind
monster, meaning Element Dragon's special effect activates!"
"What effect?!"
"Simple, he gets to
attack twice! Go, my creatures, devastate his Lifepoints!"
Element Dragon blew
away the facedown monster card, and attacked again, dropping the
duelist's Lifepoints by 1500. Then, Luster Dragon swooped in and
finished him.
Lifepoints:
Draco: 3800
Guy: 0
Draco: "I do believe I
get several rare cards now, as promised."
The hooded man sank to
his knees and dropped a small card case. Draco picked it up and
opened it. Inside there were 4 cards.
"Jinzo... Chaos Sorcerer... Chaos.."
Draco's eyes went wide
and he grinned. He shuffled two cards from his winnings into his
deck, and put the rest in his pocket.
"Later." |

As they sifted through the crowd they noticed
almost half of the duelists had been eliminated. Most players were
in current duels, some looked like they wouldn't end for awhile.
Night came, and Sabin and Draco headed home. "Same time

meanwhile sat in his house, analyzing the variety of cards he had
won from the man he later found out to be called a "Rare hunter."
Almost every card he had gotten were powerful cards, who only the
very skilled or very rich duelists had. Draco liked them, but, as
many rare cards go, they might hurt his specific deck more than help
it. Locking the extras away, he took what few he found he could
incorporate into his deckm shuffled them in, and went to
sleep. |

the door waiting for Sabin to show up. While he waited, Draco
practiced some very dramatic moves and hand gestures to use while
dueling, as intimidation is a very big part of Duel
Monsters. |

out of the driveway. He had yet to stop before shifting to drive and
flooring it.
Soon,
several sharp turns approached. Draco didn't slow down.
"You know how those
pro race car drivers always speed up, then slow down as they come to
a turn? I never understood that."
He continued at a constant speed through the
turn.
"I think
they'd go much faster if they didn't slow

her. Sabin was shaking with anger, however smaller he was. "You're a
coward, hitting a woman like that."
"What are you going to do about," and then he
saw the Duel Disk. "You?! You're a duelist in Battle City? A squirt
like you? I'd flatten you."
"Then prove it, I'll take you on anywhere,
anytime."
A buddy
of the guy yelled, "I want to squish him, let me take a shot at
him."
"I've
already got four Battle City Location Cards. How many do you have?"
"Two."
"Only two?"
"Hey!" his friend
yells, "I want to duel!"
"Is that your buddy at that table over there?"
the guy asks, pointing to Draco.
"Yeah."
"Is he a duelist?"
"Yes."
"Hey freak with the spikey hair! Get over here
and duel us, or are you too scared of loosing your

Draco
never got into Sabin's eploits, but when someone challenged him, no
matter who, Draco never backed down.
Calmly eating the last piece of his bacon, he
wiped his hands on a napkin, and gave the challenger a serious
glare. The kind of glare that would cause someone to flinch
backwards. The kind of glare that would make small children get
quiet real fast.

here's how it works..." one of the guys began explaining.
During the process he introduced himself as
Donza and his partner as Kai.
Sabin draws his first card, and taking a look
at his hand... "I'll play Pot of Greed, allowing me to draw two
cards, and then I'll summon Exiled Force (1000/1000 ****
Earth/Warrior) in attack mode, and place one card face-down."
Donza draws, "No one
can attack until each player has drawn once. So I'll set one card in
face-down defense mode and play one card face-down as well!"

Bubonic Vermin, card is a Dora of Fate.

card.
"Feel the
force of Stamping Destruction!"
Instantly, Donza's face down card was
destroyed. His Lifepoints dropped as per the magic card's effect.

I'll summon the monster I just got! My second Maruading Captain!"
A second Maruading
Captain appeared on the field, and Sabin grinned. "I'll set another
card face-down and end my turn."

Sabin's blank look obviously put him off,
"What's that look for?! I'll crush your sorry ass with my power!!!

Sabin
snapped his fingers and pointed his index finger at the Water
monster. "Baka, do you really think you can win using a simple
beatstick?"
Exiled
Force had already started their run, and all jumped high in the air,
landing on the giant creature. "What are they doing?"
"What they do best."
The men of Exiled
Force lay what look like explosives on the beast, "Boom," Sabin says
just as they both blow up before his eyes.
"N-no..."
"Will you do the
honors, Draco?"
"I'M NOT DONE YET!!!! I play my MONSTER REBORN
MAGIC CARD! I'll bring back my Gogiga Gagagigo (Water/Reptile
******** 2950/2800) and attack your Maruading Captain!!"
Sabin shrugged, "You
can't."
"DON'T
TELL ME WHAT I CAN AND CAN'T DO!!!"
"Maruading Captain has an effect that says you
can't attack other Warrior-types other than it. So when I have two
on the field, you attack any of my monsters you loud-mouthed idiot."
He swears as a few
laugh, "Then I'll attack Draco's Luster Dragon!"
The giant water thing
fires a blast of steaming water towards Draco's Luster Dragon,
destroying it.

obviously didn't like losing his Luster Dragon, but it was only one
monster, so he didn't lose much.
Draco drew, and pulled two cards from his hand,
placing them on the field.
"Try this on for size. It's my Shrink card!"
Draco pointed to the monster with too many Gs in its name.
"Shrink reduces one
monster's attack by half, and I choose that abomination."
Gogiga gagagigo's
(OOC: Someone needs to get a acronym for that or something) attack
power fell to 1475.
Draco played his other card.
"Meet Spear Dragon.
(**** 1900/0 Wind/Dragon) Spear Dragon, destroy that pitiful 8 Star
monster!"
Spear
Dragon did as it was commanded to do, and the beast was vanquished.
Draco set 2 cards, and ended his turn.

Kai drew his card, and grinned.
"Aha! Now, I think
I'll play Absorbing Kid from the Sky! (**** 1300/1000 Light/Fairy),
who will destroy your Spear Dragon to increase my lifepoints!"
Draco's dragon was in
Defense mode, a side effect of his card's power.
Draco shook his head.
"Too bad, that
won't happen. Activate my first card, Desert Sunlight!"
And the trap flipped
up.
"It puts all
monsters into defense mode, meaning you can't attack."
Kai grimaced.
"Whatever."
Draco
raised an eyebrow. "But I'm not done yet! my second card activates,
and it's Monster Reborn! I can summon a monster to my field, from
either of your Graveyards! I'll choose, Gogiga Gagagigo!"
The giant appeared on
Draco's field, with its full attack strength restored.
"Your move."

"Activate My Change of Heart on your Airknight!
Now he's mine for a turn!."
Airknight switched alliegance.
"Now..." Draco
fingered one card in his hand, and far from caring about a poker
face, grinned.
"Sabin, do you remember how
I said I had a creature more powerful than Tri-Horned Dragon? Well,
I guess the secret is out. Sacrifice Airknight Parshath and G7 to summon Tyrant Dragon! (********
2900/2500 Fire/Dragon)"
The beast unfurled its wings, which covered the
entire dueling arena.
"Tyrant Dragon, destroy Hoshiningen!"
A large fireball
obliterated the small star monster, and as expected, 300 ATK was
subtracted from Draco's monster by way of Soul of Purity and Light.
"... Now, destroy
Soul of Purity and Light as well!"
With it's second attack, the dragon wiped the
last monsters off their opponents' fields. They were both open for
attack.

monster I sacrifice! And I'll sacrifice Sinister Serpent for the Thousand-Eyes Restrict!!!"
Sabin goes silent,
"...and what does it do?"
Ee-r-ooop! and a
holographic screen comes out with an explanation. "Woah!"

attack either! Hahahaha!"
Sabin draws thinking, Shoot, with that monster in play, we can't
attack, and without monsters on the field, next turn he'll absorb
Draco's Tyrant Dragon and he'll be clear to take out whatever we put
down. I gotta find a way to break this!
Looking at his hand
Sabin sees:

of the Army, Breaker the Magical Warrior, Skilled White Magician,
Waboku, Creature Swap! I must've just drawn
it, I was sketchy at first but decided to put it in as I couldn't

the Army and get a monster," he said, pulling D.D. Warrior Lady and
saying, "Now I summon Hayabusa Knight (Earth/Warrior *** 1000/700)
and place one card face-down."

card, and activated the magic card he'd had in his hand for a while,
Exchange.
"Now I
can switch one card with anyone else's hand. I choose, Sabin, who
will help me reassemble my creatures, while I increase his!"
Draco took a random
card and handed him a Luster Dragon #2. (****** 2400/1400 Wind
Dragon)
He
whispered.
"I'm
going to get back Tyrant Dragon, and you won't have to pay them any
more Lifepoints. Just don't attack yet."
Draco walked back over and set Mystical Space
Typhoon (a second) and Call of the Haunted face down.
"And before the end of
my turn I'll play a monster face down. (Troop Dragon)"
Donza drew, but it was not a card that could
help him greatly.
"I'll put this card face-down. (Staunch
Defender)"
Kai
drew.
"All I have
is a Mystical Shine Ball (** 500/500 Light Fairy) in defense mode.
Turn over."
Draco
sprung his trap before the turn ended.
"Feel the effects of Skill Drain! It negates

"Loosing its
grip on Tyrant Dragon, TER became the 0/0 monster again, and Tyrant
returned to the Graveyard."
Draco activatd a second card.
"And thanks to my next
two face-down cards, I can get him back! Meet Troop Dragon and Call
of the Haunted. Offering Troop Dragon allows me to summon Tyrant
Dragon back to the field, and as he's summoned, we can say good-bye
to Call of the Haunted, because summoning him kicks in his effect,
removing it. So, now my Tyrant has returned!"
He looked to Sabin.
"I believe it to be

are back :-P....sorry for the late entrace; Llama talked me into it
.......Elsewhere.......
Damon Lehrer was
walking around the city of Domino, holding his duel disk and his
deck. Stored in the disk were his 2 locator cards; 1 the original he
recieved from KaibaCorp, the other than he pwn3d a n00b for. Since
his previous tournament at Duelist Kingdom, his deck had changed
dramatically. Instead of a Fiend-theme, he decided to go with the
Archfiends, a new set of Fiend-types that had special powers to put
on one another.
After looking through his deck, Damon noticed a
gathering of people on a corner. It turned out to be a duel where
some kid with a Mother Grizzly (WATER/Beast/****/1400/1200) was
getting totally r4p3d by another guy with a Twin-Headed Fire Dragon
(FIRE/Pyro/******/2200/1700). The kid lost pretty quickly; so Damon
decided to try his luck.
"Yo, I'll duel you next!" he shouted.
"Another little kid wanting to lose? Bring it
on, kid. I've got 3 locator cards, howabout you?"
"2 for me; I'll put 2 up if you do..."
"Fine; this'll just make it easier for me to
make it to the finals!!"
Both duelists activated the duel disks,
launched the hologram projectors, and loaded their decks. The disks
chirped to life and LP were set to 4000. "I'll go first" said
Damon.......he drew an Infernalqueen Archfiend
(FIRE/Fiend/****/900/1500). "Sweet! Perfect first draw! I'll summon
this Infernalqueen Archfiend in attack mode, and set 1 card
(Sakuretsu Armor) face-down on the field! That's it for me."
"Alright...I'll make
you regret playing such a weak monster in attack mode by summoning
my Darkfire Soldier #1 (FIRE/Pyro/****/1700/1150)! DFS#1, attack his
Queen!" (DFS#1 whips out it's flaming sword, runs up to slice the
Queen; however, Queen just catches his sword and knifes him in the
face...DFS#1 dies)
"What the---you must've
cheated! Your Queen was no match for DFS#1!!"
"You don't know the
effect of my Infernalqueen, do you? It can increase the attack of
any Archfiend, including itself, by 1000 points until the end of
each turn! That's how it easily beat your DFS#1!"
"Oh, shit.....well,
I'll set 1 card (Negate Attack) face-down...that does it for me."

"Nice....since I've already got my
Infernalqueen Archfiend on the field, I'll bring out my Terrorking
Archfiend (DARK/Fiend/****/2000/1500)! However, to keep my Queen
alive, I have to pay 500 Life Points. That drops me to 3500, but no
big deal, after I play this card...the lair of the demon lords,
Pandemonium! It makes me no longer have to pay those LP for my
Archfiends, and will let me replace any of them when they are
Destroyed! Now, both monsters, attack!"(Terrorking swings the BIG
sword, Infernalqueen swings her sharp cape around)
"Hold it! I'll
activate my Negate Attack trap card! It stops your attack and ends
your turn!"
"You
don't know the second effects of my Archfiends either! I can roll a
die to determine if any card targeting that Archfiend is negated!
Now watch as I roll! (Big holographic die appears between the
duelists; both Fiends watch)....I need a 2 or a 5 for either
Archfiend to stop your card! (rolls a 3) Damn...looks like you live
another turn...go"

Donza's trap card was no use, and Tyrant Dragon

"Fine... I'll attack with Breaker!" he says,
but Kai flips Scapegoat, four serene-looking sheep appearing in
front in defense position. Breaker slashes through one. "A
scapegoat, eh? Not too shabby," he says as he orders DD Warrior Lady
to kill off a second. But before ending his turn, Sabin puts one
last card face-down, "Draco, remember when you told me the joke
about the Tyrant Dragon and the Scapegoat? Your joke will indeed
come true..."

card, and activated it.
"Feel Heavy Storm! It destroys all Spell and
Trap cards on the field, meaning all effects are back!"
He looked to Sabin.
"Time for
Scapegoat-rape."
He
then played a magic card. The picture: a asteroid slamming into the
ground.
"I equip my
Tyrant Dragon with Fairy Meteor Crush, giving him the ability of
trample."
With a
dramatic finger point at a close-shot camera angle, Draco announced
his plan.
"This
duel is over! Tyrant Dragon, destroy both Scapegoat!"
Twin fireballs lanced
from Tyrant Dragon's large mouth and removed the docile balls of
fluff from existance, inflicting a total of 5800 damage to Kai's
1800 Lifepoints. |

Damon had
put his shiny new Premature Burial card into his deck already, and
now he was admiring the 4 locator cards he had won so far. "They
seem to fit together like a puzzel, but without the other 2,
there'sa big hole in it....I'll need to get the right 2 so I can
find out where to go! But first....I need a duel....."
He walked around for a
while, scouting around for some idle duelist, but to no avail. He
decided to take a quick rest, so he sat down on a bench next to a
mime-looking guy who hadn't moved in hours. The wierd mime has a
black-and-white striped shirt and red pants on, and had various
sizes of rings pierced into his face. "wh0a," Damon thought, 'that's
wierd..." Damon leaned back and looked up at the sky. A few clouds
looked like cards in his deck..."Archfiend
Soldier......Desrook.......Darkbishop....." He named off a few more,
then brought his attention back to the world. A guy, maybe 22, was
trying to get his attention. He too, was wearing a duel disk. "Hey,
kid.....want to duel?"
"Sure....I'm bored,
why not....how many locators you have?"
"I've only got 1; I registered late..."
"Ok, 1 card against 1.....let's go!"
Both players loaded
their decks and set up for the duel. 4000 LP set up in each disk,
and each person drew their cards. The challenger decided to go
first, and he started off the duel by playing a monster in face-down
defense. Damon drew....Graceful Charity. "I'll play my Graceful
Charity card! I get to draw 3 cards from my deck, then discard any 2
from my hand! So now *draws 3*, let's see what I got...."«Wow, my
newest card on my first turn.....cool...lets see, what can I
do...hmm, I've got a Desrook (LIGHT/Fiend/***/1100/1800) and a
Terrorking in my hand as the only monsters....YES!»"I'll discard
Desrook Archfiend along with this card, Nightmare Wheel...but now,
that Desrook can come back when I play Premature Burial! (Desrook
pops out of the ground) But that's not all....now that I have an
Archfiend on the field, I can summon my Terrorking Archfiend! Now
I've got 2 great monsters on the field, I'll play another card,
Pandemonium, so I don't have to pay LP for my Archfiends. That's
enough for me......your move."
