OOC: Hey! Now that deleting the old one frees up
space on the board, let's clog it all up again with this one! Read
Me: Episode II - No Stabbing Allowed.

IC:
Imazuma
looked down on the little town below. The tree he was sitting under
was medium-sized and providing perfect shade. He sipped a little
from his hidden cask, and tried to doze off. On his belt, his two
spirit spheres reflected sunlight. A cool breeze went
by.
Ah.. so peaceful.
Then, a sphere glowed,
and Imazuma picked it up.
"Ah, want to come out?"
In
response, the sphere turned red.
"I summon thee,
Ki-ryu!"
Out poured a leathery-winged red serpent. Its teeth
shone in the light as it opened its mouth. Stretched out about 14',
the rare red dragon flew into the sky, doing twists and curls as it
ascended. It finally got to a peak, opened its wings to full
extension, and stretched i nthe open air.
"ROOAAAAAHH!" it
yelled to the clouds.
and then flew back down, wrapping
itself around the tree its master sat under. It looked happy as it
too dozed off.
He looked to the other sphere.
"Wanna
come out too?"
The sphere did nothing.
"Ah, I see.
Well, when you're ready, just ask."
He set it back on his
belt and looked at the town. Off on one side, a few people were
battling their spirits.
Maybe I'll try that
later.
OOC: C'mon people! Pick up were Read Me left

OOC: yeah this is my first RPG, so be kind. I only
have a vague idea about where I’m going with the character, so I’ll
post the character stats and stuff later. And no, I’m don’t really
have anything against llama, it’s just the easiest plot hook I could
think of. In reality all Imazuma owes Kaimana is something to the
order of like curry bread
IC:
“ At last I have found
you Imazuma. For your negligence in your payment, I demand
restitution. I, Kaimana shall avenge the dishonor that thou has
wrought upon my house by thy despicable deeds.”
Kaimana
brandishes a vaguely spherical object;
“Waipu'ilani Nalani
Ho'ea”
Mist shot out from the sphere, and condensed into the
shape of a large, yet lithe ice drake. It was surrounded by a cocoon
of opaque fog, making it hard to distinguish any specifics about its
appearance.
“C’mon Nalani, let’s make this thief pay for his
actions”

OOC: I think your guy is like, doing a dramatic
scene where you're standing really far away on a hill overlooking
some vast area? Right? Not just plopped down in front of my guy..
IC:
Ki-ryu opened its eyes, sensing another
spirit. Feeling no imminent threat, he closed his eyes and went back
the sleep.
The second sphere glowed twice, then went dark.
Imazuma was still asleep. |

devils_angel on November 27, 2003, 09:51:53 AM
Lirit watched as both her and her opponent's
spirit-spheres opened in midair. Brennan's released a
yellowish-white fog that slowly hovered to the ground.
That's it? she wondered. Poor kid didn't get much
luck in choosing, I guess.
As it moved, though, the fog
slowly began to solidify into a figure. By the time it fully reached
the ground, it was the size and shape of a lean six-foot man. It was
completely butter-yellow and looked as if it was wearing a
tunic(also butter-colored) of some sort as well as a cape and
sandals.
Oh.
Lirit's sphere, on the other
hand, had released what seemed to be a small ball of fire. It darted
around curiously before coming to land next to her, where it rapidly
enlarged into a large, cat-like figure. It resembled a lion, or at
least what a lion would look like if it had tiger-stripes, a flaming
mane, and red fur made of fire.
Waaaait a minute, she
thought, peering at her spirit. I thought I summoned an
earth-type. Where's Terrae? She looked at the spirit-sphere that
she'd used. Its inscription read 'Wyldfyre'.
Eeeeexcelllent job, Lirit. You go to fight a battle and
the first thing you do is misintroduce your fighter! Wonderful!
"Well, even though you seem to be a bit confused about your
spirit," Brennan's voice interrupted snidely, "let's get started."
"Okay," Lirit replied with a weak smile. He's a kid,
Lirit. Be nice. Out loud she said, "You can have the first
move."
He smiled coldly and replied, "I intended to." With a
flick of his wrist, he commanded, "Wynd, gust attack."
A
small whirlwind spun erratically toward Wyldfyre, gathering speed
and magnitude as it went. It crashed straight into the lion-spirit,
but it didn't even flinch. The flames in its mane flared briefly,
but otherwise there was no effect.
Right....wind only
gives fuel to fire, Lirit realized. Kid must be a newbie.
"Wynd, there's no point screwing around," Brennan said.
"Tornado Spiral, full power. Now."
Suddenly, there was much
more than a small whirlwind heading towards Lirit and Wyldfyre.
Winds swept the entire arena, twisting together to form a gigantic
tornado that pulled insistently on the pair. Lirit judged herself
lucky that she was standing close enough to the wall to hold onto
it, since the winds would definitely pull her in otherwise.
Little jerk! she seethed. Doesn't he care who gets
caught in the aftermath?
OOC: Whee, nice 'n'
long.... |
Title: Re:Read Me: Episode II Post by:
Dark_Llama on November 27, 2003, 09:58:32 AM
Imazuma awoke to see a tornado in the battle
arena.
Hehe.. looks like fun. But still not time
yet.
"Ki-ryu, lets go. I need to get a few
things."
"Rooooah!" It murmured as it awoke. It nodded and
let go of the tree.
"Ki-ryu, return."
..and it turned
into red energy that was absorbed by the sphere, blowing red, then
disappearing.
Imazuma walked into town, a heavy coin pouch
reminded him of the two things he definetely needed:
A
drink...
and the 2 spheres that he was on a journey to
find. |

so whatever.
IC: Aelmah reached his seat and saw two
sorcerers already calling their first spirits. Isn't that kid a
little young to do this? Aelmah shrugged and saw the female
sorcerer summon a spirit, but it seemed she called the wrong one.
Aelmah wondered how she could let such a newbie mistake fly.
Seems like something Lirit would
do... |
Title: Re:Read Me: Episode II Post by:

OOC: Lirit: Bite me, pointy-ears! XP
Angel: Don't say that. He'll take you seriously. ¬.¬
IC: The whirlwind kept going, doing its best to suck
Lirit and Wyldfyre into the center of it. The siren could feel her
grip slowly loosening as her fingers tired of clinging to the
granite walls.
"Wyldfyre!" Lirit called. "Umm....umm..."
It was right about then that Lirit realized that she had NO
idea what Wyldfyre's attacks were.
Oh, SHIT.
"Um....fire-blast!" she yelled, thinking of an attack off
the top of her head. Luckily, Wyldfyre seemed to take the hint and
loped off....
....right into the whirlwind.
Oh
dear lord. All the spirits in the world and I get the one with a
death wish. She peered into the windstorm, trying to discern
Wyldfyre from the dust clouds stirred up by the tornado. There was
no sign of him anywhere, from the area from which he'd left to right
by Wynd to the eye of the storm. There was nothing but dirty, dusty
air, and a flash of red near the yellow spirit....
Wait. Lirit looked closer at Wynd and, sure enough,
the flash of red was Wyldfyre. He'd used the whirlwind as a mode of
transportation, riding it over to the other spirit.
I'll
be damned! He's smarter than I gave him credit for!
"Now, Wyldfyre!" Lirit yelled as loud as she could.
"Fire-blast!!"
The lion-spirit opened its mouth and let
loose a torrent of flames that engulfed Wynde. Lirit expected the
attack to be fairly short, but Wyldefyre just kept going. After a
moment, the whirlwind weakened and died; apparently Wynde couldn't
keep up both the attack and its defenses.
"That's enough,"
she called. "Leave be, Wyldefyre."
Amazingly, he listened
and closed his mouth, ending the stream of fire. Where the fire had
once been, a charred-looking Wynde crouched on the ground,
recovering itself.
"Hmph," Brennan grunted, looking
displeased. "You're better than I would have thought. Beginner's
luck, perhaps?" He toyed with the spheres hanging from his belt and
eyed Wynde annoyedly. "I suppose we'll just have to show you that
luck, however good it is, doesn't last." He removed two spheres from
his belt and called, "Wynde, I dismiss thee. Glaive, I summon
thee!" |

Imazuma walked into town near the arena where
the tornado was disappearing slowly. He looked around the square,
not surprised to find a few shops selling spirits. One particularily
caught his attention.
All right, let's start
there.
He walked in, and an Arab-looking man (well, from
our point of view) greeted him in a special tone, since Imazuma's
coin purse was heavy with its contents.
"Hello my friend, how
is it I may serve you?"
"Well," Imazuma looked on the walls.
"I'm looking for a specific sphere. I heard it was in this town, and
am in great need of it."
"Hmm, well, what kind of spirit do
you need?"
"It doesn't matter about the spirit, but the
sphere is one of a kind..."
"Well, my very best are all here,
on full display!"
Imazuma looked on each shelf, reds, greens,
yellows, all were there for inflated prices, but he didn't see the
one he wanted. Then, before he left, he saw the doorway with beads.
He smiled.
"I'd like to see whats in the back."
The
shopkeeper raised an eyebrow. "I'm sorry, my friend, but the back is
for employees only."
Imazuma flicked him a large silver coin.
"Really now?"
The man caught and inspected the coin. "Well,
there are exceptions." He put up his closed sign and motioned
Imazuma into the back.
In the dark room were three shelves of
more intense spheres, obviously more powerful. These were the rare
ones.
He looked around, and suddenly, he saw it. A dim, blue
sphere sat in the corner, covered in cobwebs. He was sure of it.
This was one of them.
"This is it! This is the
one!"
The shopkeeper looked at the sphere.
"No, you
do not want this one. It will not come out when summoned, nor does
it ever show life. I believe it is a throwaway spirit, no one wants
it. I keep it back here because it would take up valuable space in
the front."
Imazuma smiled." I sill want it. How
much?"
"It cannot be worth more than 30
coppers."
"Deal." Imazuma flipped 30 coppers worth from his
pouch and set the sphere on his belt. The previously dormant sphere
lit up when put next to the purchased one.
"Ah! You have
another! Why do they glow when together?"
"Because.. they're
brothers." |

Ooc:okz, now I'm completely confuzzled, can someone
tell me what is going on?
Coming back to reality, Kaimana
noticed that Imazuma had somehow mysteriously vanished.(ooc:-_~)
"Well, I guess that puts a limit on how effectively we can
hunt down that bandit. Nalani return ."
Knowing that Imazuma
could never pass up the chance for a drink, Kaimana entered the
nearest town and sought out what seemed to be the most popular
tavern in town, the 'Doddering Dodo'. Kaimana ordered a drink, then
retreated to one of the booths far away from the flow of traffic,
trying to appear inconspicuous.

Imazuma, now very happily in posession of two of
the needed three spheres, went into the arena to watch. Standing
there in the archway, he saw a cute young girl was battling a very
young child. The girl seemed to have the upper hand at the
moment.
" Uh, 'scuse me"
A small man, most likely a
dwarf, brushed him at his waist, and walked away. It was only a
second later Imazuma checked his belt, to discover his new sphere
was gone.
"That son of a bitch!" and proceeded to chase after
him.
Being a dwarf may have its advantages for pickpocketing,
but not running. Imazuma caught up to him as he left the
village. |
Title: Re:Read Me: Episode II Post by:
devils_angel on November 29, 2003, 12:37:24 PM
The sphere that Brennan tossed in the air released
a silvery shape that huddled at the boy's feet in a solid-looking
lump. Slowly the lump unfolded itself into what looked like a small,
spiky, metal dragon. Its reddish eyes narrowed as it looked around
the arena, taking in its surroundings.
"Glaive, Dragon
Shuriken," Brennan commanded. The metal beast nodded briskly and
suddenly exploded with spikes, beginning to resemble more of a
hedgehog than a dragon. Whatever it was, it drew its arms back,
swung them forward, and flicked the spikes from its arm at Wyldfyre.
"Uhh...." Lirit stuttered, unsure of what to do. "Wyldfyre,
melt the spikes with a fire-blast!"
The lion-spirit
obediently opened its mouth and shot a blast of flame at the
projectiles, but the attack missed. Annoyed, it shot a few more as
the spikes flew at it, but the results were less than stellar. The
majority of the darts were not hit by the blasts, and those who were
hit only glowed with a red heat for a few moments. As a last resort,
Wyldfyre tried to dodge the projectiles, but a few of them buried
themselves in its right shoulder nevertheless. Wyldfyre whimpered
quietly and shifted its weight from its right front paw.
Lirit frowned. She knew that casualties were part of
battling, but she didn't like seeing her spirits hurt. (She also
knew that this was somewhat hypocritical, seeing as the whole point
of the arena battles was to incapacitate your opponents' spirits as
she'd just done to Wynd.)
"Wyldfire, Spinning Inferno," she
told her spirit on a whim. "Make a spinning wall of fire to encase
Glaive." |

They stood in front of a tavern.
"How can I
help ye', sir?" the dwarf acted innocently.
"Give me back my
damn spheres."
"I'm sorry sir, but I don't know ye's talking
abou-"
Imazuma punched him, and saw his sphere roll out from
his coat.
He picked it up, and glared at the dwarf.
"BItch, this is MINE." Then, he smiled. "You need to be
taught a lesson."
Imazuma returned his regained sphere to
his belt, then picked up the red one.
"Ki-ryu, let's have
some fun! I summon thee!"
The red dragon reappeared, and
looked at its master for instructions.
"Ki-ryu, give him
something to rethink his life."
The dragon nodded, and flung
a fine layer of flame around the dwarf, and he got the
message.
Then, a familiar face appeared from inside the
tavern.
"Imazuma, you bastard. I finally found
you."
Out stepped Kaimana, more of a pest than a real rival.
She believed Imazuma owed her something, though it was never the
same thing twice. Sometimes it was chickens, sometime some money,
even alchohol, which at the moment, seemed to have taken effect on
her, for she was staggering slightly.
Then she fell
face-first into the charred dirt.
"Ahm oh keey.
Reary!"
Getting up, she pointed at Imazuma. "Now, I must
teach you the lesson you deserve!" Reaching for her spirit
spheres, she selected one, threw it between the two of them, but
didn't summon it. The two stood there, watching the sphere, and
Imazuma cracked up laughing.
"No matter!" Kaimana declared,
pointing at Imazuma. "I fight on!"
And she collapsed in
another drunken stupor. |

A large metal building suddenly loomed over the
two,
"Wow, big... your Father has a very large metal-work
here...." Jace murmered,
"Yep..." She paused looking at Jace
out of the corner of her eye, "You're really not from around here,
this is the great woodelf city, pretty much all buildings are like
this except for some inns and houses." Nara said. They entered, and
immidiately Jace felt a blast of heat. Looking around he saw molten
metal in fire-hot cauldrens, and he saw a lone elf, with surprising
build for a wood-elf.
"I didn't know Wood Elves were into
Metal so much..." Jace commented. Nara nodded,
"We'll your
right, this is a rare shop to find, Wood Elves do dabble with metals
sometimes, but we usually use the natural juices from plants and
trees to meld with the metal to form magical properties. All our
products are fair. We entered the back way so you're just seeing the
pure metal-melting area, my dad is up there." She said, pointing to
the elf high above on a balcony-like metal workarea.
Nara
sat down on one of the chairs with Shiwari on her lap,
"Well? Are you going to talk to him or what?" Nara asked,
seeing that the Elf had not moved. Jace nodded and walked towards
the blacksmith... |
Title: Re:Read Me: Episode II Post by:
devils_angel on December 2, 2003, 10:20:32 PM
OOC: Yay, it's Faelynn! We missed her! ^^
IC: Wyldfyre followed Lirit's instructions and encircled
Glaive in a ring of fire. The flames blazed for a few good minutes
before waning, and Lirit shuddered to think how hot the metal spirit
must be.
What if he melts? she wondered randomly.
Does that count as a defeat? How will he get back to his normal
shape?
Apparently, though, her worries were in vain.
When the flames cleared, Glaive stood there looking a little shinier
but nonetheless uninjured.
Brennan smiled, but it didn't
quite reach his eyes. "Glaive. Pinning Needles."
Instantly,
the dragon flung one spike from each of its limbs at Wyldfyre. Each
spike flew to a matching limb on Wyldfyre and pinned the fire spirit
against the arena wall. Wyldfyre growled in pain but, being made of
fire, did not bleed. Lirit opened her mouth to command him, but
Brennan interrupted her.
"Platinum Stake," the young boy
told his spirit.
Another silvery spike began to grow in the
palm of Glaive's hand, but it was easily three times longer and
thicker than the previous ones. [Angel's note: Shut up, all of you;
I know what you're thinking! :P] When the spike had finished
growing, Glaive paused and simply looked at the pinned Wyldfyre for
a moment.
"Well? What are you waiting for?"
Glaive
started slightly at the reproving words from its master and
recovered itself. It drew its arm back and hurled the spike at its
opponent with deadly speed.
Lirit could only watch for a
split second afterwards. In a few seconds, the spike would hit
Wyldfyre straight in the chest. She didn't know whether it was
possible to actually kill a spirit that way, but she didn't plan on
finding out.
"Wyldfyre, I dismiss thee!" she blurted out
hurriedly, and the spirit disappeared in the nick of time. Brennan
looked slightly disappointed but otherwise displayed no emotion. Her
hands shaking with anger and fear, Lirit drew a second sphere from
her belt.
"Terrae, I summon thee," she said shakily, making
sure to choose the correct sphere this
time. |

Jace approached the Elf. That guy was huge!
(OOC: Think Hagrid if you've ever seen the movies)
"Umm..
excuse me?" Jace said as he approached the giant of an elf. The elf
turned around, Jace was stunned. The elf was five feet taller than
Jace, who was taller than most all humans, his arms and whole body
rippled with muscles, his head was matted with black hair. The elf's
hands were the size of shiwari. In fact it was hard to tell him
human except for the long pointed ears and the eyes, which were the
pools of seemingly infanent wisdom of the woodelves.
"Uh... I
was just wondering if I could talk with you... when you're ready of
course..." Jace said, seeing a red-hot bar of iron gripped in the
massave hand of the elf. Jace had no idea how he could hold that
thing and not get burnt, but Jace didn't want to rush this smith.
But the Elf's face split into a wide grin,
"I
was just joking!" The Blacksmith laughed. Jace started to
laugh too, more from relief than from laughter...
A deity
cowering before a mortal... if there are any gods watching me right
now...
they're laughing...
Jace thought
as he heard a voice float up from below, "Oh
daddy...." |

Lirit's sphere released a cloud of greyish smoke
that hovered above the arena floor. After a moment, it settled down
and solidified into what looked like a large, greenish-brownish
boulder. It didn't move.
Ooookay, Lirit thought.
Now would be a great time for it to transform into the Giant
Kickass Monster of Doom(tm)....
"Um, Terrae?" she
hazarded. Out of the corner of her eye, she could see Brennan's cold
smirk, and she twitched. Chill out, Lirit. No matter how annoying
he is, he's just a boy. He's all of eight years old. Take it
easy. Out loud she continued, "Terrae, come on out."
Slowly, two grey eyes opened from a little less than halfway
down the boulder. They blinked and looked about, and then four
short, bulky limbs extended from the lower half of the spirit. It
stood up and continued looking around, as if it was puzzled about
its location.
Lirit sweatdropped. Are the weird ones just

Lirit opened her mouth to command her spirit, then
realized that- oh, yeah - she hadn't a clue what kind of
attacks it could do.
"...." she managed, trying to find some
inspiration anywhere. After all, adlibbing had seemed to work
with Wyldfyre.
Brennan, however, wasn't having that problem.
He was smirking arrogantly as he said, "Glaive, Metal Lancer."
Glaive shaped the spikes on its right arm into one giant
lance, looking like big pointy trouble.
Terrae was still
looking around the arena.
Glaive began charging Terrae.
Terrae looked up.
Glaive was about five feet away
from Terrae now.
Terrae blinked.
Oh, for crying
out loud, Lirit thought, and yelled, "Terrae, defend yourself!!"
Just as Glaive readied itself to attack it, Terrae moved one
arm in a half-hearted attempt at defense. It didn't do much;
Glaive's lance slashed a deep scar into Terrae's arm and side. That
itself didn't do much, either. Terrae examined the wound through
half-lidded eyes and did the spirit-equivalent of a shrug.
Lirit sweatdropped majorly. What...the....hell. I guess
nothing penetrates that thick hide, especially not
thought. |

because it had so many posts and the people on it were dedicated to

IC: As little had
happened in the last few minutes, Inazuma decided that watching a
girl ad-libb movesets for her spirits was a little more boring than
he wanted to spend an afternoon watching.
He stood, and
being sure to avoid dwarves, he walked out of the stadium and back
to the town. He found Kaimana still sleeping on the side of the
tavern, however it seemed that during this episode of
unconsiousness, she had fallen over and lay on her side.
Shaking his head slowly, he opened the door to the tavern
and walked in. Ordering a drink, he sat down at the bar and flicked
a few coins at the bartender.
Sipping the cold drink,
Inazuma could only ponder, Now that I have two of the three

spirit.
The spheres still glowed blue when put together.
And then, the magic of the Joining Spirit will make it
complete. |

As Jace expected, there was an iron table, which had a
couple of dents in it from, probably, when the elf would lay his
hands down on it exasperally.
Jace patiently waited.

Once finished with his drink and peanuts, Inazuma
stood and left the tavern, and during his refreshment, Kaimana had
disappeared.
"At least she isn't bugging me."
He set
off for the edge of town to look around. There had to be something
of interest here. |
Title: Re:Read Me: Episode II Post by:

While circling the town, Inazuma came across a
small living quarter nestled by a green hill on the outskirts of the
busy street. A small dirt road went by huts while people went about
their everyday lives. Inazuma smiled and continued onward, but his
progress was interrupted by a loud scream and the neighing of
horses. A speeding cart came barreling down the road. The driver was
hanging off the edge, beign dragged behind the wooden cart, while
the horses galloped franically foward. A small child, crossing the
road, had been surprised by the sudden noise, and began searching
for the source, stopping in his tracks, dead center of the cart's
path. Inazuma had to act fast, and could only think of one way.
He grabbed the nearest sphere and dove towads the child.
"Ki-ryu!!!" |

"Thanks, babe," Lirit replied as Fae went to sit in
the stands.
"Are we quite finished?" Brennan's cold voice
interrupted. "I'd like to get back to battling, if it doesn't cut
into your social time."
"Sure thing," Lirit said, forcing a
smile. He's eight. He doesn't deserve your undying hatred.
Brennan smirked. "Very well then. Glaive, Thousand Needles."
Glaive seemed to shrink inward on itself for a moment, then
expanded violently outwards so that it resembled a porcupine again.
It looked similar to how it looked before performing its Dragon
Shuriken attack, but this time its spikes were thinner and sharper,
and there were more of them.
Lirit stepped closer to Terrae.
She didn't like the look of those spikes, and she wanted to make
sure that her spirit heard whatever she told it to do in order to
dodge.
"Terrae--" she started to say, but Brennan
interrupted her.
"What are you waiting for?! GO!!" he
yelled, and Glaive obeyed. As Lirit spun around in surprise, every
single needle that covered the metal spirit shot at Terrae....which
meant that indirectly they were aimed at her.
Lirit was
frozen in surprise for a second before the reality of the situation
hit her. She immediately dove to one side, away from the needles.
She did so only a moment too soon; as she fell towards the ground,
she felt a few needles hit the hood of her robe, freeing her braid
from its confines. Squeezing her eyes shut, all she heard then was
the whooshing of the air as the needles flew by her and Terrae. Her
eyes flew open again when she heard them stop, and she scrambled to
her feet. She felt strangely lightheaded, like she was suddenly
unbalanced. She shook her head, trying to shake off the dizziness,
and blue streaks flew by her.
Am I in shock? she
wondered vaguely, one hand going to her forehead. When she pulled it
away, the blue streaks came with it. It was then that she realized
that the blue in front of her eyes wasn't a hallucination.
It was hair. |

The red dragon rushed foward, spraying the red aura
that surrounded it away as it took off towards the card. Inazuma
rolled across the road, grabbed the child and kept rolling off the
road. Ki-ryu roasted the cart.
The kid looked up, still
frightened, and Inazuma let him go, running away to his mother.
A very attractive (ooc: ;) ) young blond came up behind him.
"Ohh, my! Did yu save zat little bouy? Ou la la, how
dengerous! You are a hiro! Here, let mi give yu a reward."
"Oh, it was noth-"
And she pulled him down and gave
him a rather long "peck" on the lips.
"Wow. If that's a
reward I should do this hero thing more often."
The girl
blushed softly, and showed him the mother, who was very greatful for
her son's life. She hugged Inazuma and walked away.
"Ki-ryu,
good work. Come back." and the creature disappaeared.
Inazuma looked back to the blond.
"I'm Inazuma. I
don't think we've been formally introduced, though I enjoyed
our first meeting." |

Lirit's brain still hadn't quite registered what
was going on. One hand went to the back of her head, feeling around
for any injuries.
Okayyy....no bleeding, that's good...no
spinal cord damage, that's good... Her hand felt along her neck
and partway down her back. She could feel her braid settling into
the pouch her hood created.
I seem fine, she thought.
So what's all... Her hand returned to the front of her body,
and her braid came with it.
Realization dawned.
Oh. |

Lirit stared blankly at the braid in her hand,
unwilling to realize what it meant.
.....He cut off my
hair, she managed finally. That little bastard cut off my
hair. A small memory flashed through her mind....a boy's
voice...
You have such pretty hair, Lir....why don't you
grow it long?
She glanced over at Brennan, who was
eyeing her coldly. There was no trace of concern in his eyes, just a
mild, morbid curiosity.
It didn't matter to him that I
was within range, Lirit realized. Whether I was in the way or
not, he still would have attacked. Her eyes narrowed into mocha
slits, and she spun around to face him.
"You know, up until
now I wouldn't have cared who won," she told him, eyes blazing. "But
you insist on lodging your head further and further up your ass. I
know that spirits will get hurt in battles. It's inevitable. But
nobody, nobody touches my hair without my permission!!!" She
extended one arm and pointed at him. "And for that....you are going
DOWN!!" |
Title: Re:Read Me: Episode II Post by:
devils_angel on December 29, 2003, 11:23:26 PM
Brennan smirked again. "I'd love to see you try."
"Well, that's a pity," Lirit replied just as arrogantly.
"Because you won't get to see me try. You'll see me succeed." She
spun around to face Terrae, who was still looking around dumbly.
Sweatdropping, she shouted, "Terrae! Uh....go get Glaive! Attack!"
Brennan looked slightly amused. Lirit snarled at that.
I don't care if he's eight! He's a cocky little brat with
no concern for others at all! she fumed. Time to open the can
of whoop-ass...
"Terrae...." she growled. "Come on. Do
this for me. Just once, once in your life, please make an
effort....?" She stared it in the eye, unwilling to back down.
Terrae blinked slowly, lethargically. It stared back at
Lirit, unmoving, and she swore she could see the gears in its head
trying-- and failing-- to turn. However, for the first time in its
life, something must have penetrated the hard stone it called a
skull. It stood up.
"Yay! Go, Terrae!" Lirit cheered. She
pointed back at Glaive. "Sic 'im, boy!"
Terrae eyed Glaive
purposefully and began striding towards it. The metal dragon was
completely dwarfed by the earth spirit looming over it, and it
attempted to make a break for it.
"Don't move, Glaive,"
Brennan commanded icily. "A retreat is the same thing as a defeat.
You can take whatever that dumb rock dishes out."
Glaive
looked petrified, but it stayed where it was. Terrae looked as if it
couldn't care less, as it stopped right in front of Glaive and
turned around.
"No, no!" Lirit shouted. "Attack!"
Terrae blinked again and sat down.
On Glaive.
The arena was silent for a moment. Neither Lirit, Brennan,
nor the audience could think of what to make of the situation.
"I guess that counts as a defeat...." Lirit muttered to
herself. To Brennan, she yelled, "HA! Told you so! Glaive is
defeated!!" |

She looked with her honey brown eyes, surveying the fight. I
could use a fight myself... Faelynn smiled. What's the use of
being the Elven Goddess of War, if you do nothing except chew on
popcorn and eat donuts? she contemplated some more, and closed
her eyes momentarily. Pictures of past wars flashed before her eyes.
She remember long ago when the elves had fought along side the
humans to banish many of the evils of this world. Faelynn remembered
leading her people into battle, on her horse Jade. The Elves had
prayed for a god to help them and the humans in the war, but instead
they were sent a goddess. Faelynn was that goddess, and she had
indeed, kicked butt. But that was long ago, and that war has since
been forgotten by both elves and humans. Faelynn opened her eyes and
sighed, how she missed the good ol'
days... |

IC: Inazuma followed the girl
in and out of the village, seeing all there was to see. Claire
asked,
"So, meester Inazuma, what brings yu to this aria?"
Inazuma unclipped his belt and pulled it out. There were the
two mysterious blue spheres and Ki-ryu's red one.
"These
blue spheres. As you can see, I have two. A long time ago, a sprit
summoner created three of these spheres, containing three creatures
that were brothers. Together, they are extremely powerful, yet
apart, they are docile, and appear useless. They are, what you could
call, the ultimate creature.
"Well, that summoner was
my ancestor. There spheres have been passed down in my family for
centuries, until tales of their power began to spread, and they were
stolen.
"It is my duty to gather these spheres and reclaim
their power to its rightful owners."
Claire looked greatly
interested, and her eyes shone birghtly.
"Oh! The struggle
for honur! So gracious!" |

There was a thump heard coming from the arena, but
Inazuma payed it no attention.
He and Claire were walking and
talking. Small conversations came up, and died as they continued on.
They were soon very far from the city, in the midst of a deep
forest. Neither of them payed any attention to the dark sky, until
the thunder got loud.
Then it rained. It rained heavily. So
hard the drops were almost painful. Inazuma grabbed Claire by the
arm and began to run through the forest to seek shelter.
They
were almost running blind, except for the few seconds when lightning
would burn an image of their surroundings on their retinas. A tree
nearby was hit, and the top burst into flame, while some wood was
ejected towards the rock wall on one side of the valley.
The
large chunk of wood went through a bush, and revealed a cave. Not
thinking twice, Inazuma ran in and they were safe.
The cave
went on with a short passageway for about ten feet, before turning
sharply right into a large cavern.
"This will be perfect to
wait out the storm in, though, it is a little cold.."
Then he
was hit by inspiration. Running back to the entrance, he dragged the
chunk of wood into the open area, and began hitting it with a sharp
rock. It split into a few small logs, and Inazuma dropped the rock.
Running back into the rain, he walked carefully to the burning tree
and pulled off a thick burning branch. Carrying it back inside, he
was amazed how much larger the cave was when lit. Piling a few logs
together, he dropped the flaming stick and they soon had a warm
fire.
"Wow, it's really raining out there." he said, as it
began to warm up. He took off his shirt and wrung it out, and was
draping it over a rock near the fire when he saw Claire's eyes upon
him. |

offered to him, and he saw why she had it on. Cleavage was as far as

of the cave. Putting his now-dry shirt back on, Inazuma led Claire
back to her home village. He thanked her for her time (OOC: ;) ) and
went on his way. He had the final destination already.
Before he left, Claire stopped him, and told him:
"Many munths ago, I saw dis man wid a spirit sphere like
yours. Eet did little, nothing wuld awaken eet. Eet behaved much
like yours deed. Ay am certain it was just laike yours."
Inazuma found his map and marked the place she had seen this

something unintelligible and pulled out his crystal sphere returning

voice boomed, "For those who do not know what happened, Brennan
smash his crystal sphere containing Glaive. When a crystal
containing a spirit is smashed, the creature is sent between worlds.
They cannot exist on our own Material Plane or an Elemental Plane or
even the Demonic planes. They cannot be summoned back by any means
except by the highest order of bishops and archmages."
Aelmah stood in the crowd, starting to jump seats to get
down at the little bastard. A few humanoids tried to stop him but
rather than catching feet with their hands caught feet in the face.
Aelmah jumped down to the field, "You scrawnly little shit! What the

Lirit gaped for a moment and then snapped back to
herself.
"Aelmah! What the hell are you doing?" she snapped.
"Leave him to me! I'll take care of him!" Her eyes narrowed and she
scowled, reaching for her third spirit sphere. "Terrae, return to
your confines. I summon thee.....Stormie!"
Terrae dissolved
back into earth-colored smoke and was replaced by a blue-grey mist.
The new mist hovered over the ground before solidifying into a shape
that resembled a human child. The spirit was the color of the sea
before a storm, and she had wide black eyes.
"Summon your
next spirit, Brennan." Lirit practically spat the name off her
tongue.
Brennan, who was busy ignoring the elf that was
shouting at him, nodded curtly.
"I summon thee, Usine," he
said coldly, and threw his spirit-sphere into the
arena. |

rafters far above.
He ran towards the wall, and jumped,
bouncing from one wall to another and ascending, he grabbed hold of
a rafter and swung himself up (after he took all his excess gear
off, of course.)
He set the spheres in a knot in the wood,

IC:
Stormie blinked her wide black eyes
once and spun around rapidly, letting her arms trail at her sides.
Grey-blue water began to materialize at her fingertips until a
full-blown wave had formed. She stopped suddenly, and the wave flew
off her fingers to slam into Usine. The leafy spirit was knocked
back a few feet and looked a little dazed, but otherwise there
seemed to be no effect. Lirit frowned.
"Stupid," Brennan
laughed. "Don't you know that water spirits can't affect a plant
spirit?" Lirit gritted her teeth but refused to respond.
"Well, let's try something else," she murmured, then raised
her voice in a command. "Stormie, Undercurrent!"
Stormie
promptly extended both arms in front of her and touched her thumbs
and forefingers together to form a triangle. A current of water
sprang from the triangle and drenched Usine.
"Like I said,
nothing we can't handle," Brennan sneered confidently. "Usine,
Tangled Vi-"
"Stormie, Lightning Kiss!" Lirit shouted,
cutting him off.
Stormie daintily raised one hand to her
mouth. Pursing her lips as if to blow a kiss, she exhaled slightly
onto her palm. Lightning began to dance where her breath landed.
When the ball of lightning reached a considerable size, Stormie
exhaled again but with much greater strength. The lightning leaped
off her palm and, as lightning tends to do, followed the path forged
by the water current. It struck Usine squarely in the middle,
paralyzing the spirit and making it fall to its knees. It didn't get
up.
"Victory!" Lirit cheered, bouncing up in excitement.
"Told you you'd get royally ass-kicked!"
If looks could
kill, Lirit would have been six feet under after the glare Brennan
fixed on her. |

Aelmah smiled and they went to walk back down to the sphere
room. "WAIT!"
They turned around and a man that looked like
a noble cried, "You two both won! Now you two must face off!"
Aelmah turned towards him, glared, put his hands
together and closed his eyes. He said a quick prayer and a mini rain
cloud appeared above his head. It was dark and did not look too
friendly. It started downpouring on him. Aelmah laughed, saying a
quick thanks. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZAP @_@
The cloud
generated a lightning bolt and zapped the noble, who now lay

Jace blinked, stepping out into the sunlight. He
had been talking with the Smith for a while about an armor he wished
to forge. Jace had wanted to re-forge his sword, but a psychic
message from Shiwari changed his mind. Shiwari said that Jace could
find some material later to make a great armor which would help Jace
even more than his standerd Deity armor.
Shiwari had also
told him that this was a renown blacksmith, and that many of the
Deities went to him in disguise in order to forge weapons and
armor... so far the giant blacksmith had no clue the real potential
of the artifacts he created.
He now had to pay a huge
price... and Jace so far had no clue how he was going to pay it off.
As he was leaving Shiwari told him that He'd be find alone with Nara
and to leave him to go find how much money he had.

It was many weeks later that Inazuma reached his
home. It was a large chateau, on a green hill littered with trees,
overlooking a grape vineyard. Inazuma walked casually into the
house, only to meet the surprised eyes of his father.
His
father looked over him, his dirty clothes, his hanging sword, and
the grin on his face. Inazuma pulled out the three mystery spheres,
the three of them bright with energy.
His father, too,
smiled. They took them to the thick, wooden door that led to the
family's special room. There, family heirlooms adorned the walls;
old armor, weapon, and paintings. In the center of the room, lit
from an intentional hole in the ceiling, was a triangular pedestal,
with three curved depressions.
Inazuma took the spheres, one
by one, and set them in the holes. They glowed extremely bright, and
dimmed. He replaced the glass case over them, and the carvings on
the base of the pedestal glowed blue. The carvings of the three
dragons sealed within the spheres lit the room. Together, they were
a great force.
Inazuma and his father, still not speaking,
ascended the stairs and shut and bolted the door.
Inazuma
nodded, and his father did too. They hugged.
"Good job, my

"It was a great quest, father."
"You have

Jace stared at his bag of coins, a few gold
glittered out, and a few silver too... but not nearly enough.
"Aww, geeze..." He groaned... Maybe I shouldn't make that
armor after all... He thought, then shook it off. His father was
killed.. and Jace could be next. Since Jace had no heirs to the
throne... who knew what would happen with his powers.
"I'll have to negotiate with him..." Jace murmered, fixing
his way and packing his coin bag in his pocket. He exited the door
and head back to the blacksmith in order to pay his dues... one way
or another... |

"You. Weren't. Moving"
As soon as she had
undressed they ran into the weapons/armor room where Aelmah had
thought he was picking stuff out. He went to run up the stairs when
two large looking gladiators came out and got in his way. He jumped
back, seeing one was a lizard man and the other an orc. The lizard
man had a two handed flail with a heavily spiked ball on the end and
the orc was wielding a two-bladed sword.
Shit...
Aelmah grabbed a throwing axe off the
wall and hurled it at the orc. The orc, however, spun around and
deflected the axe and sent it spinning right back at Aelmah who was
surprised and caught it in the shoulder.
Aelmah breathed
heavily, "Don't..." *huff* "touch..." *huff*
"again..."
Aelmah's eyes glowed in a heavenly light... and
Aelmah looked up and it looked like for a second he disappeared
appearing in front of the orc his arm appearing through the
two-bladed sword handle and into his chest. The orc's face was
contorted with pain. It fell back in agony to one knee. The lizard
man backed up as the glow flared around Aelmah. "Leave us... or I'll
invoke my true wrath on you...." |

The large metal doors Towered over Jace, light
bouncing off them to play along Jace's face. He was a little nervous
to enter, but he swallowed silently and pushed open the grand doors.
A hot blast of heat greeted him as he stepped onto the
walkway which led to the back way into his workplace. As he closed
the metal doors behind him a large clash met his ears.
He
could see high above him on the metal balcony the great giant of an
elf who was working away at a sword.
Jace had never gotten
the smith's name so he walked to the stairway which led up the the
balcony... metal as well. It was strange because this whole metal
workplace was located within a grand tree, but metal plates lined
the walls protecting the flamable walls of the oak. High above was a
small group of pipes which let the steam out of the tree. Jace stood
behind the giant, who never turned around but seemed to know of
Jace's presence for he started to speak...

"Oh, way to be inconspicuous, Aelmah," Lirit
remarked, rolling her eyes. She hummed a few bars of a familiar
song, and a ball of wind began forming in her hands.
"Get
the hell out of my way, please," she said with a smile, unleashing
the gale of wind onto their other opponent. It successfully knocked
him into the wall, and Lirit took the opportunity to grab Aelmah's
arm and run past.

IC: The glow fell from
Aelmah's eye as they ran to the surface. At the top the burly
looking dwarf was there, "Ahhh, is it Aelmah? And the pretty little
human girl too? How are you two?"
Aelmah spoke quickly, "Can
we have what you owe us, now?"
The dwarf looked ataken back,
"Yes yes indeed, you two did a very nice job out there."
The
dwarf reached under the table and produced bags which sounded full
of money. "Those each have approximately 100 (5000 dollars
approximately in hawk's terms) sp in them, most of it coming from
other nobles who appreciated the spell you cast on the one
running the show," the dwarf smiled broadly.
"Thank you sir,"
and he turned but only to face a ring of thugs with the fried noble
as the pinnacle. "That hurt you stinking little elf... Ready
boys?"
What seemed like 3 dozen thugs wielding a variety of
weapons smirked and replied with something along the lines of,
"Alright bossss."
A voice spoke up from behind the noble,
"You can stop the charade here

OOC: Gold peices? Gold is worth frickin' much... at
least in this RPG. With your combined money you cold buy yourself a
small castle. it costs about 10 copper to buy lodging in an inn
(lower class), and 25 for a pretty nice one. The highest for inn
lodging would be 5 silver or something. there are 50 copper to each
silver, and about 15 silver to a gold peice. So in contrast copper
is 1 dollar, silver is 50 dollars, and gold is closer to 750
dollars. So you guys just got 750,000 dollars, which is A LOT. I
barely carry around 5 gold at the most, now I don't even have
that...
You wouldn't get 750,000 just for a battle and
looking good. IC:
"So you 'ave the money?" The elf
grumbled slamminig a hammer the size of Jace himself onto the metal.
Despite the size of the hammer and the red hot glow, the metal
seemed to barely change it's shape.
what kind of material
is that? Jace thought, then his mind returned to the present and
he spoke,
"Umm... I don't have the amount you asked for..
I'm sorry, but I doubt we could really negotiate. I only have 2 gold
and 5 silver. I couldn't match it. Maybe sometime later I will come
back and have that armor forged." Jace said, turning away. All his
hope for negotiation on the price withered away as he looked upon
the massave figure.
The blacksmith still pounded away,
almost acting as if Jace hadn't spoken at all. But then he layed his
great hammer down, which caused a slight reverberation in the floor,
and turned around.
"It was nice meeting you though." Jace
said extending a hand. The smith had a thoughtful look upon his
face. Then entended his arm and engulfed Jace's puny hand. He had
the distinct feeling of his hand being cast into stone.
"Well, maybe we can negotiate..." He boomed. Out of
the corner of Jace's eye he spotted Nara come from one of the doors
leading out of the workshop, she was still holding plushie-shiwari.
"You'll still owe me the gold, but I'll let you on loan
until that time, under one condition..." The Smith said. Jace
smiled,
I can do any condition! It'll be worth it for the
armor... Jace thought hopefully.
"... you must take Nara
along with you on your travels..." He finished. Jace's face
immidiately dropped. He stopped shaking the smith's hand, but that
didn't faze the large elf who continued shaking Jace's limp arm.
Jace could see a smile bloom across Nara's face from far
below the two on the ground,
"You mean it daddy?" She called
up. The Elf turned and replied, "Yes, I've kept you within this town
too long. I'll allow you to travel outside, as long as your with
this elf." He said, then turned around his eyes scanning Jace as if
approving him as able to protect his daughter, but in his eyes Jace
could see he doubted the elf's strength.
"Ye.. yea, I think
this young elf will be able to protect you." he said. Jace tensed,
Hey! I'm a minor Deity! I'm not afriad of anybody! Jace
thought and was about to say it, but when the elf's huge face turned
back towards him he forgot all of what he was about to say.
"I don't need a protector!" Nara said, her face scrunched up
and beet red. The Smith finally released Jace's hand and slapped the
elf on the back with nearly enough force to send him flying off the
balcony.
"Well, he'll make a good companion anyway." The
Smith said. Jace couldn't find much to say, but the Smith's face
clouded as if he was suddenle remembering something,
"I
never introducted myself!" He boomed, realizing, "My name is
Vulcan." He said. Jace was faintly reminded of something, but
dismissed it.
"I.. I'm Jace." He stuttered. Vulcan wiped his
brow which was sweating profusly. It was then that Jace realized
there was a small silver symbol which was seemingly coming from the
back of Vulcan's left hand.
"I'll just be leaving now.." he
said. Vulcan nodded and grabbed the mighty hammer again, "Come back
within a month, I should have it done by then. I've been recieving
lots of orders lately..." he said, returning to his work. Jace
climbed down the stairs to the grinning Nara,
"I've
never been out of the city! It must be so exciting.." She
started, but Jace didn't pay much attention and opened the back door
to leave,
"Hold on! I have to get some things for my
travel!" She said grinning and leaving through another door. Shiwari
still grasped tightly in her arms. Jace just finished exiting
through the door...

OOC: Well, I spent 1 and a half hours writing this
post over at Snowskittle's house, and when I hit the post button I
realized I probably should copy the text. Well I got to "I'd better

here I go again...
Warning: Great plot deveopment
ahead, but warning.. it's a frickin' long post. If you read it all
everything will peice together and you'll understand so much more...
if you dont... well good luck anyways. IC:
Jace closed
the large metalic doors which effortlessly glided shut, making a
small muffled clang as it closed. Wind blew across the ground, and
Jace's eyes followed a stray leaf which slid across the ground
around Jace and as Jace turned around he saw the figure of a
voluptuous young woman.
She stood a few inches lower than
Jace, with light cinnamon skin which shined like dull gold and long
brown hair which came partly in front of her eyes, the hair shining
in the sunlight as if enchanted by some majectic force. Jace's eyes
followed the hair to her eyes, which were a forest green which
seemed to peer into Jace's soul. As Jace looked into those eyes he
felt as if they would go on forever, like an endless pool.
The woman smiled, "Hello Jace..." She said in a soothing
soft voice. Jace couldn't help himself but feel more at ease. She
was stunning!
"Hi. Do I know you?" Jace asked a little
meekly, the woman giggled,
"Don't you know me Jace? I sure
know you." She said. Her voice sent shivers of pleasure up
Jace's spine.
Who IS she? was all Jace could manage
to think before she spoke again, drawing Jace further into her
enchantment.
"It's very nice to see you again Jace. I know
you from a long time ago..." She said, getting closer to Jace and
stroking his back with her slender right arm, and using her left arm
to slightly stroke his chest.
Jace's mind seemed muddled,
all he could really focus on was her, but somewhere in the back of
his mind a small voice was saying something, but Jace swatted it
away.
"I'm sure you'd remember me if you tried." She said,
pressing herself against Jace, who had lost all thought, except for
her, but that dumb pesky voice!
"Jace, I see you're getting
familiar with the ladies..." A voice behind him said.
That voice.... Shiwari! Jace suddenly realized
breaking the spell and causing Jace to spring backwards and face the
voice. Shiwari stood in the sunlight, back to his normal self, his
dark purple fur reflecting in the sunlight. His fur was so dark it
was often mistaken for black. The woman frowned a little,
dissapointed by the arrival of the demon, but defenantly not
surprised by it.
"Jace... I'd be careful around her. She has
been known to make webs to trap her victums..." Shiwari warned.
"Webs?" Jace asked faintly. The woman just glared at the
demon, a hint of a smirk appearing on her face,
"Cleaver
little demon..." She said in a chiding voice. Shiwari nodded,
"Yes webs. She is Gaia, the goddess of the earth and a
little of life." Shiwari said. Jace's mouth hung open slightly. He
was in the presence of an actual goddess. Even though he was a
Deity, it was still humbling.
"I see you were barely able to
fight off my charm.." Gaia said to Jace, "A mortal man would have
been forver mine if I had used such power on him." She said. Jace
shook his head,
"How did you do that?" Jace said, trying to
be weary in case she started charming him again.
"It's her
presence. As you get stronger you gain an aura. Hers charms those
she is near..." Shiwari began, but Gaia inturupted.
"But I
also have another side of that aura..." Gaia finished her emerald
eyes flashing dangerously, "You'd have the aura with would most
likly strike terror into the hearts of all your are near, even if
they can't see you they still feel your aura. You ever have the
feeling that nature is closing in on you? That all the power, the
rock, the trees, all the air seems to be deadly still and able to
explode and crush you at any given minute?" Gaia said, "Well, that's
my other side of the aura. It humbles most peole I run into." She
said, smiling a little.
As Jace listened to her he found her
bubbly giggly nature she had before was now gone. She looked at Jace
as if she was peering into his soul,
"I'm surprised you
didn't know me Jace... dissapointed even since we do work alike..."
She murmered,
"We do?" Jace asked, but felt like retracting
it for when he finished the sentence her eyes seemed to freeze over
gave Jace the feeling as if he was stuck in the mountains in a
blizzard with naught but his clothing on him to help him survive the
biting cold.
"Yes... we both give life. But there is a
difference." She said, her eyes flashing dangerously again, "I give
life, starting the large majestic trees from little acorns, the
spring, bringing new life... while you bring life to the
dead, twisting and mutating them to your desire. Mutilating life..."
She spat. Jace started to feel guilty, and could see her enormous
ditest for his work in her eyes. He almost was compelled to admit he
hadn't used any of his powers yet.
She glanced over at
shiwari and smirked a little. "I see you don't have a corpse as your
familiar..." Gaia began, Shiwari frowned, "But a small demon who's
looks are about as cuddly as a teddy bear isn't much improvement."
She finished. Shiwari puffed up, about to repond but Jace spoke
first,
"He is my mentor who is actually very powerful and
defenantly not cute..." He said winking to shiwari who smiled in
appreciation, "In fact he's bordering on scarey." Jace finished. Out
of the corner of his eye Jace could see Shiwari puff up again, but
this time in pride. Gaia giggled again, but not in the enticing way
as before, but with a edge of malice to it,
"Power you say?
I'll show you power..."She said, a trace smile spreading on her
face. Jace looked over to shiwari in confusion, but the demon was
confused as well... but then Jace saw something,
"Shiwari!
Watch out!"
*~~^-^~~*~~^-^~~*~~^-^~~*~~^-^~~*
Nara
analized the clothes she had packed into her pack she was taking
along.
I have never left the woodelven great city! It'll
be great to see all the sights, and all the magic! She thought
humming a tune in her sweet voice as she packed more items. She
heard a knock on the door.
"Come in!" She said, and turned
to see her father Vulcan amble through the door. He held something
large behind his back, but due to the size of Vulcan he was able to
easily hide it.
Nara could see the look of concern on her
father's face.
"Hi daddy. You've come to see me off?" She
asked. He smiled and nodded. Despite the size of the elf he still
was as caring as one could be.
"Yes. I'm worried 'bout
you..." He said, "But I know you'll be fine." He said smiling a
gruff smile. Nara grinned. He shyly nodded and revealed what he had
behind his back, placing them on Nara's bed.
Nara gasped at
the sight. They were so... pretty... Nara thought as light
seemed to reflect off them despite the small amount of light which
emmitted from the candlelight.
The first object was an armor
which was somewhat like the corset shape (Like the midevil dress top
thing which had the ties across the torso/chest area). There was
metal which was craftly sewn into the fabric, which itself looked
very strong. One the shoulders were armor pads, which looked
very durable to attack. The armor was completely white, which
little etchings all over the fabric and metal. It was beautiful.
Nara's eyes started to tear,
On top of the armor was a long
sword, which had a three foot long blade, but as Nara picked up the
sword she found it amazingly light and well balanced. The sword
handle was white as well with little symbols engraved into the hilt,
and as she looked at the blade she barely could hold back a gasp.
The blade itself was forged of a white metal which reflected the
light like dropletts of water. She noticed the razor-edged blade
immidiately, giving a solemness and danger to the beautiful blade.
Finally on top of them both was a small pendant on a
necklece. This time made of silver. It was of a small figure with 3
angelic wings on one side of it's body, and 3 demon wings on the
other with her hands together holding a small clear jewel. The
figure itself was also white, and perfectly crafted. Nara supposed
the pendant meant that in everything there is good and evil in
everything, and as long as you can use them both and retain balance
then ture virtue will come forth... or something.
Nara
looked up at her father with tears in her eyes,
"Daddy!" She
cried and gave him a large hug. After Nara finally let go Vulcan
then shuffled out of the room with one last wave and returned to his
work.
Nara turned back to her packing, but changed into the
armor, and putting the necklace around her neck. She found Vulcan
had also given her a beautiful white sheith to go with the sword.
"I wonder why it's all white?" Nara mumbled faintly,
equiping the sword. As she looked at herself in the mirror with her
hair cascading down around her shoulders, she thought of herself as
a dangerous beauty. She giggled a litte,
"Isn't that what we
all really want to seem like at times..." She whispered to no one in
particular. She finished packing, then said aloud,
"Well,
we're ready to go!" And looked around, but saw that the plushie Jace
had given her had dissapeared.
"Oh no!" She said her eyes
opening wide. "I gotta search!" She moaned putting her bag down and
looking through all th nooks and crannies.
---
After
looking everywhere she still couldn't find it, and then realized she
had made Jace wait a long time. Tears clouded her eys at the thought
of losing the elf his litte plushie. She really missed it as well.
With it in her arms she felt a comfort she rarely felt.
"Oh
no!" She moaned again, picking up her bag and rushing out the door
towards Jace to tell him what happened...
*~~^-^~~*~~^-^~~*~~^-^~~*~~^-^~~*
"Shiwari! Watch
out!" He yelled, extending a hand towards the demon. Shiwari looked
around in confusion to find himself in the jaws of a huge wolf. The
wold seemed to come from no where, it's huge body seemingly
appearing from the very air itself. It stood 10 feet tall, white
shaggy fur covered it's body, but here and there silver streaks
lined the fur. It's long fangs trapped the demon within them.
Jace glared at Gaia, "Let him go..." He said dangerously.
Gaia smiled,
"Whatever you say..." She murmered, looking to
the wolf, who opened his mouth, the small demon tumbling out of it.
The body of the wolf seemed to thin into the air, but as
Jace focused he could see the wolf's outline as it padded without a
sound or trace back to Gaia's side, sitting on it's haunches.
Shiwari didn't seem to be able to see it and flapped his wings and
got into the air, feeling safer up there. Shiwari looked around the
area for the wolf, but the invisible wolf's head followed the demon
as it flew in the sky.
"I see you're developing some of your
sight..." She said, noticing his able to see her wolf.
Having a giant wolf like that who is invisible to even
demons! Jace thought, but didn't let any amazement cross his
face.
"So, what are you doing here?" He asked Gaia, getting
a little annoyed at the goddess's remarks.
"I'm having
Vulcan make me a weapon. He's very good you know..." Gaia said,
smiling a little.
"Don't you gods and goddesses have your
own smith?" Jace asked, beggining to feel like Gaia just came to
torture him. Shiwari still hadn't come down from the sky.
Gaia shook her head, giggling a little, "You don't know?"
She asked, "Vulcan ... he's the Deity of Smithing.."

OOC: I decided to make another post in order to
allow you a break, and maybe it'll help so you can read it. Another
long one ^^; IC:
"Vulcan ... he's the Deity of
Smithing.."
Jace's mouth hung open a little. He looked into
those green eyes for any sign of deception but he found none.
Gaia giggled and spoke again, "Sit down, I've got a lot to
tell you..." And she drew herself up begining the tale of Vulcan...
"Vulcan has been a Deity, or also called a god, for more
than most of us all. He was around during the Ancient War." Gaia
began, Jace was about to ask about the Ancient war, but Gaia cut him
off,
"Then came the time of the Battle of Souls, which was
in effect even during the Ancient War. Both sides of Dieties and
gods were asking Vulcan for weaponry, armor, and magical items."
"Vulcan was a very cunning man, and during the battles he
felt like he was being pulled apart. Both sides were trying to cut
off the other from getting items from Vulcan, so he sealed himself
in his workshop for 3 days."
"We all knew he was making
something, for we could see the great fires constantly being fed to
forge the most powerful of items and weaponry. We all thought he was
making a great weapon, to end the war once and for all, or an armor
would would be impervious to even godly power." Gaia said, noting
the reactions on Jace's face, then she continued on,
"After
the three days were up he opened the great doors in his godly
workshop, and in 5 minutes created this workshop you see here,
giving up his godly one in the Great Volcano under the mountain of
Gods (Not Mount Olympus ;), a different one). He changed his form to
that of an elf, but anyone can see the trace of his great Deity
form."
"He then revealed his creation, an artifact which was
only a foot long and made up a symbol which Vulcan made himself,
containing great powers. The Artifact was made out of a material
only Vulcan could find, and it has more strength than even our godly
weapons."
"Vulcan then thrust that artifact into his left
hand, screaming in pain. We all thought he was ending his life, but
we were not far off." Gaia said. Jace was leaning towards her
yearning to hear the rest of the story, Gaia noticed and smiled a
little, continuing on,
"After a full day of screaming in
pain, the noise rocking around the world and through the earth, he
finally stopped, and looked up with glazed eyes, which then he
looked upon all us Deities and Goddesses who gathered around him and
asked who we were. He had forgotten everything we were, who he
was..." Gaia said,
"That artifact erased his memory, and
created a new one, one of a mortal life, a mortal life as a
blacksmith. He truly thinks himself elven, and his memory only
'lives' for 1000 years, before his body 'dies' and the artifact
works again, erasing his mind as if he had died, and creating a new
past, a new person. The only thing which remains constant is his
name... Vulcan." Gaia said.
Jace glanced up, "What about the
other elves who know him, don't they notice he never dies?" Jace
asked. Gaia shook her head.
"The artifact has even the power
to make all that knew even his Name, forget he ever existed, and
makes all who live near him think he had grown up in the city like a
normal elven child. The only ones which aren't effected by the
artifact is us Deities and goddesses." Gaia said.
That's
why Shiwari never knew he was a god! Jace thought. Gaia played
with a curl of her hair and continued on,
"But throught the
thousands and thousands of years of this cycle, Vulcan did something
different this time around...." Gaia said, Jace looked up,
"He married, and had a child..." Gaia said, "I don't know if
this child posseses any power, but she hasn't shown any promise. We
Gods await a sign that she is one of us, but so far she seems just
mortal.." Gaia said, releasing the hair she had held captive between
her fingers,
"Well, I must go for now Jace, I await our next
meeting..." She said, steeping back into the shadows and seemingly
melting into the trees, her wolf padded after her dissapearing as
well.
Jace was about to yell wait, but he heard footsteps
behind him, and turned around to suddenly have Nara suddenly grab
him around the waist,
"I lost him!" She cried, truly sorry.
Jace didn't know what she was talking about...
"I lost your
plushie! I'm so sorry!" She continued on. Jace realized who she was
talking about,
How can shiwari manage to get a girl this
attached to him in just a couple of minutes!? Jace thought
looking into the sky, but he didn't see Shiwari. As he looked down
he saw shiwari, back in plushie form, leaning against the metal door
which lead into Vulcan's Workshop,
"Ah, don't worry, he
probably just fell somewhere." Jace said, pulling her off him, and
looking at the plushie, "He's right there!" Jace said, as if he had
just spotted the little plushie. Nara smiled and ran over to grab
the plushie. Jace's smile dissolved into a frown,
"Dumb
demon... dumb..." He mumbled, turning around and heading down the
path.
"Wait up!" He heard Nara call behind him. Jace waited
patiently... |

Out of relative danger Aelmah decided to take a
look at magical charms and trinklets. A store near the edge of town
looked like it would fall apart with a mouse's breath due to the
shambly-looking boards.
Aelmah walked inside, "Hello?"

"You go on ahead, Aelmah," Lirit said. "I need to
get my hair taken care of."
She walked out of the shop to
look for a hair salon, still holding her severed braid in one fist.
It swung in time to her stride, occasionally bumping the sides of
her legs.
You have such pretty hair, Lir...
Her eyes filled with unexpected tears as she walked, and her
fist tightened around her braid.
Why don't you let it
grow a while? Don't cut it off yet.
The tears spilled
out of their own accord, running in hot, salty rivulets down her
cheeks. She let them fall, feeling too numb to do anything about it.
Goddammit,[i/] she thought

| Inazuma had returned to the village to bring Claire
home with him, but he had arrived too late. She had left as well, to
where, no one knew. Inazuma, feeling kinda depressed from missing
her, walked into town, and passed an elf-looking guy on his way out
of a building. |

The old witch was talking about Aelmah wasn't
listening.
Aelmah remembered what she had said, "You go on
ahead, Aelmah," Lirit said. "I need to get my hair taken care
of."
The old witch held up various objects and Aelmah
nodded. Maybe I should see if she's doing ok... She seemed pretty
upset about that, not only being attacked but the loss of her long
hair...
Aelmah spoke quickly, "I forgot my wallet!" and
ran out the door
Aelmah ran through town looking for Lirit
but could not find her. Where could a hair salon
be? |

Lirit honestly didn't have any idea where she was
going. She was sort of looking for the hair salon, but mostly she
was walking around to distract herself from crying.
This
is stupid. This is stupid, and self-pitying, and the kind of
behavior I hate, she thought. And for some reason, I can't
stop. She wiped her eyes with a fist and continued to walk
determinedly. |

Aelmah stopped near a group of men who looked like
peasants. "Did you see a human girl with blue hair around here?"
"Nope, sorry."
Aelmah continued running trying to
backtrack places he had been. He ran forward through an intersection
but a glimpse of blue caught his eye. He could feel his hopes rising
as he looked back down. It wasn't there but he was sure he was close
so he ran down that way until he got to the T in the road and looked
both ways. He saw Lirit to his left and ran up to her. He stepped in
front of her, putting his hands on her shoulders. He kind of bent
and looked up at her, "Hey, are you doing
alright?" |

Lirit stared at him for a minute uncomprehendingly.
"...I'm fine," she said, self-consciously rubbing her eyes
in case her cheeks were still wet. "I just....need to walk around
for a bit, that's all." |

| But her hesitation told Aelmah differently. He dare
not question her emotion stability, so instead he said, "Ok, if you
follow me there is a nice looking restaurant a little ways from
here. We can... walk there and then get a bite to eat," noticing his
growling stomach for the first time in
awhile. |

| Inazuma was feeling down, and the only thing he
could think to do was eat. He had moved quickly to return to this
town, hoping to bring Claire home with him, and in doing so may have
forgotten a meal or two, sitting down in a restaurant, he awaited
some service. |

Lirit sniffed, hated herself for doing it, and
nodded.
"Okay," she relented. "I guess I can fix this after
we eat."
Now that their destination had been settled, the
pair set off to find some food. They eventually reached the
restaurant that Aelmah had referred to and found themselves a table.
"The Frolicking Ferret certainly is an interesting name,"
Lirit remarked, taking a menu. "Sounds like an inn or a pet shop, or
something." |

Aelmah grinned, Lirit could never drop her humor,
even when she seemed on the verge of tears. When a waiter came over
Aelmah asked, "Could I have a salad?"
The waiter took
Aelmah's order rather quickly and he turned to Lirit, "And you
miss?" |

Jace walked down the path through the gardens,
shafts of light flowed through every tree, making the whole place
somehow mistified. Jace couldn't help himself but look around in
awe. He had already been here before of course, but something this
magestic still had an effect on him. Despite Nara having lived there
