Title: Mechanical Justice Division! Post by:
Dark_Llama on September 18, 2004, 12:06:06 AM
In the near future, the dependancy on mobility is
greater than before. This is especially evident in construction,
where larger and heavier materials could only be tediously lifted by
cranes. Thus the invention of the mech, a humanoid machine piloted
by a person. They use all sorts of mechanical systems to enable
greater mobility of materials for whatever task they are assigned
to.
However, with any power, there is abuse. Criminals begin
finding ways to use these giant robots to comit crimes, and police
are left with little to combat them. This the beginning of the
Mobile Patrol division, a division of police who fight fire with
fire. They train and operate their own mechs and fight mech crime
whenever called upon. They are transported to the scene of the crime
via tractor trailer, where they disembark and begin their duties.
Their mechs are just like normal cops- they chase bad guys, fight
them and shoot them if they must (all armaments would be much larger
than normal therefore). It is this group of police that enforce the
law of the land whenever it is tested by criminals in mechs. The
mechs are just as mobile as a human can be, all movements, for the
RPG's sake, are do-able.
All Police whose jobs relate to the
mechs (mechanics, piltots, trailer drivers, etc) are part of the
Mechanical Justice Division (MJD). (If you want a better name, feel
free to suggest one) They are stationed on the edge of the city, in
an open field-like area. All mechs and persons are housed within
hangars and adjoining barracks.The city they are in has no name as
of now, so feel free to come up with one, also.
The
characters can be anyone: Civilians, Police Officers, even
criminals.
Also, make it known that Police aren't constantly
fighting crime. Sometimes, there is down time, and periods of
extreme boredom. Make note of this.
Oh, personal note- I
was a little lacking in the acronym for the division name. If you
have a better idea for the division name, which makes a cool acronym
too, please suggest it!
UPDATEThis is a mech RPG.
Only mechs are allowed. A mech and pilot are two separate,
individual entities. No person becomes a mech. Pilots must get into
the mechs, not magically become one and grow 50
feet.

OOC: Hawk, please remove OOC posts.
Begin,
my RPG, ahahahahah! IC:
Iris Duncan had never seen a
sight like the one before her, nor had she ever thought it possible
to have a career in such a place. About 200 yards in front of her,
there was an old, whitewashed aircraft hangar, once used for old
bombers. The large doors were open, and the crew of mechanics was
sitting around on chairs and playing cards inside.
Supposedly, this was to be the new MJD headquarters.
Attached to the hangar were what used to be the control tower and
offices. Those were to be made into offices assigned to the ranking
officers. The runway was still in good condition, with only minor
cracks from time. Some had weeds growing in them.
Iris
shifted from Park to Drive, and drove past the boundary gate and
towards the hangar.
This should prove
interesting... |

| Duane Marcus is in the shop, fixing a VCR when one
of his mechanics tells him a car is coming. As head mechanic and in
charge of the hangar, Duane thinks that he should go see who it is
and what they want. |

| Iris parked her car near the control tower, which
looked vacant. Having seen no other signs of life other than the
mechanics, she donned her police hat and walked over in their
general direction. |

The mechanics were simply wasting time until their
official orders came in. The hangar hadn't officially opened for
business yet, so everyone had to find something to do with their
time.
That didn't, however, exclude them from following
rank. Those who noticed Iris' approach quickly stood at attention,
prompting others to see why, and follow suit.
She was only a
Lt., but they were still basic police, so the stance was all they
were required to do.
"As you were, boys." The mechanics
relaxed and some sat down, returning to their magazines and whatnot.
"Are any of the higher ranking officers here
yet?" |

A mechanic spoke up, "Good day Lt. Iris. Besides
Duane Marcus, you are the only higher ranking officer to arrive." He
turned to get back to work then remember, "Oh yes. Lt Iris, today is
the day a newbie joins the mobile justice division. I believe the
person is from the Kiyoshi family as they had promised." The
mechanic went off to do his business tuning up other mobile
suits.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Kiden Kiyoshi
was at the lab where her middle brother, Jiro, worked. She sat
watching him until he had time to get away to talk with
her.
"Hello, Ki Ki." The twenty severn year old said
slyly.
Kiden just looked at him with a frown. "Jiro, how many
times have I told you to stop calling me that."
Still mocking
her he spoke, "Ahh is little Ki Ki upset because of
today?"
Ignoring him Kiden turned in her seat. "Yes big
brother, today is the day where I go off into some business of
father's."
Jiro hugged his sibling, "Do not be so moody. You
will be doing work for me as well, testing our eperimental unit." He
smiled hoping to cheer her up.
Kiden smiled at her brother.
"Thank you Jiro. Well I must be going, is the unit on a transporter
and ready to go."
Jiro nodded. Kiden hugged her brother and
gave him a kiss of the cheek exchanging good-byes. She left the lab
and drove off in her car to the hanger of the police division. The
transporter with the experimental unit will be following her
shortly. |
The mechanic she spoke to walked off, and she
pondered.
She was new to this division of the force, everyone
was. The division had only been created recently, and aside from a
few ranking officers, no one was part of it.
Iris had just
actually gotten her transfer accepted, and the folder with info
about her new job handed to her as she walked out her old
office.
"New recuit and an experimental model? Sounds fun."
she said, walking into the hangar to admire the standard-issue mech,
labelled simply, Unit 1. |
OOC: Yay!! well hurry it up there ^^ IC:
Kiden reached the hanger of the Mechanical Justice Division.
She had no idea who would be her commandig officer, nor what
division she was actually a part of. Her father left out a majority
of the information that Kiden needed because he was busy negotiating
with the military. Kiden knew that her suit would take a while
before reaching the hanger so she decided to check the place out.
Wearing a short navy blue skirt and matching jacket she was
given as a uniform, she walked into the hanger. Her hair was loose,
cascading her curls, not in its ordinary braid and those green eyes
scanned the whole place. Kiden wished to be back into her original
boy-style clothing that was more suitible for a mobile suit.
She spoke softly to herself, "I wonder if they are expecting
me?" Stopping in at the entrance of the hanger, her eyes wandered
hoping someone would tell her where she was to report
to. |
Iris had opened a panel on the leg of the mech and
examined its contents. It was a ground-level power connection, where
the mech got plugged in to recharge.
Closing it, she walked
around and between the legs of the mech examining how stable it was
standing up while it was offline.
Looks good... I wonder
how it drives..
Her thought was cut off by the steps of
someone in woman's shoes approaching her. The hangar was dark, and
the door to the outside was flooded with bright contrasting light.
She turned, but could only make out a uniform.
"Hi there,
are you one of the officers?" |
Kiden looked surpirsed when someone spoke to her,
for she did not even see anyone around her. Then she could see then
figure of a woman coming towards her.
"Oh, me?" Kiden
question, Then she remembered that this person in front of her was
an officer of a higher rank that she. Straightening up her posture
she spoke again, "Officer Kiden Kiyoshi reporting for duty." She
saluted the woman in front of her. |
Iris, taking note of the lack of high-ranking
insignia, returned the salute semi-casually, and greeted the
newcomer.
"Are you the new
pilot?" |
"Yes, ma'am. I shall be piloting the experimental
unit GAT-01 also known as Strike Dagger. My convoy should be
arriving soon with the unit." Kiden looked at the other mechs in the
hanger.
"How old are these?" Kiden was pointing out at the
other mechs. "I haven't seen this model around in a long time." She
was astounded at them, and completely thrilled about the older
mechs. |
The sound of a disel engine came to Kiden's ears
she turned around and began walking towards the entrance of the
hanger. "Seems that the unit has arrived."
The truck pulled
up, Kiden helped the driver uncover her mech. "Thank you Daniel."
giving her thanks to the driver, a friend of her brother's. She
climbed into the mech.
"Jiro told me that he will be sending
other upgrades for Strike Dagger such as equipment. So be on the
look out for those Kiden." Daniel left to get back into the drivers
seat.
Kiden started up the machine, closing the cockpit. The
suit flared to life as Kiden pushed buttons then controlling the
movement. The suit sat up then began to walk with the heavy thudding
sound all these giants made. The truck drove off with its driver
waving to her.
Moving the arm to wave back she turned the
suit to the open hanger. She opened up the speakers and reciever.
"Where would you like me to place Strike Dagger?" Kiden spoke down
to her higher officer. |
Iris herself had not become situated with the
layout of the base, so she simply said:
"Just park it next
to the old mechs for now." |
Title: Re:Mechanical Justice Division! Post by:
"Yes ma'am." Kiden moved the suit towards the
others and turned it off. Opening the cockpit, Kiden grabbed the
line that would lead her to the gound.
On the ground she
asked Iris, "I know we go out as a police force, but what are we
supposed to do around this place?" |
Iris circled around the mechs one last time before
continuing her search. SHe found some stairs that led to the offices
that overlooked the hangar bay.
Might be someone of
higher rank up here... |
| Kiden followed Iris around to the rooms that were
above the hanger grounds. Her orders were to report to her
commanding officer, but as of now Kiden was confused as to which one
should she report to. |
Iris went up the stairs and found all the offices
lights off, except for the farthest one. She walked down the catwalk
to the door, which stood ajar, and a man was unpacking items from a
box and arranging them on a desk. He bore the ensignia of a ranking
officer.
Saluting, Iris said: "Sir! Iris Duncan, reporting
for duty!"
He returned the salute semi-enthusiastically, and
spoke quite strongly.
"Welcome... " he check for rank
"..Lieutenant. I'm the commanding officer for the MJD. Captain
Michaels is the name. You one of the pilots?"
Iris nodded.
"Yes, sir." |
Title: Re:Mechanical Justice Division! Post by:
Kiden was quite a ways behind Iris and turned onto
the catwalk to hear the introductions in the far room. Kiden assumed
her commanding officer was within the room for Iris was the one who
saluted first. Walking into the room she stood at attention awaiting
the permission to speak.
The Captain nodded as Kiden took in
a breath, "Kiden Kiyoshi, daughter of Darius and Sienna Kiyoshi,
reporting for duty."
Kiden wanted her commanding officer to
know she was a Kiyoshi, the one who was sent to make her family's
political image better. |
| Kiden felt uneasy about the mechanics handling her
suit. Trying to hold back her tongue Kiden's thoughts raced. Knowing
full well that she would be punished for speaking out of turn in
front of her commanding officer, Kiden took the risk. "Um sir! I
will not let any mechanic touch Strike Dagger, sir." She took in a
breath nervous of the outcome. |
the delivery truck.. I suppose you can busy yourself with overseeing
the placement of your unit in the
hangar." |
| Kiden was just standing there looking even more
confused at the expression on her commander's face, but other senses
kicked into gear as she bolted from the room to her unit. Grabbing
the tether she was hosited up to the cockpit of the suit. Flipping a
few switches the suit came to life. Over the intercom she spoke out
to her commanding officers that just stood there with puzzled looks.
"If there really is something going on it would be best not to stand
there..." |
leaned on the platform's handrail.
situation requires your mech, so you should probably power down and
conserve energy. You never know when we might be
